Rating: Summary: Charming -- Highly recommended Review: Devotion to the woman who treated them as a mother motivates three handsome bachelors to find wives quickly in Eileen Wilk's Tall, Dark, & Eligible miniseries. Ada's experimental treatment is exorbitantly expensive, but they'll do anything to prolong her life. To pay for her treatment, they must fulfill the rules of their trust. Jacob West, nicknamed the Iceman, was the first brother to seek a wife. Now it is Luke's turn.Luke storms into his brother's home office to declare his outrage regarding the sale of Maggie Stewart's horse Fine Dandy. Jacob protests that Malcolm Stewart didn't ask anyone's permission to sell his daughter's horse following her minor riding accident. Further, Jacob has no right to intervene, explaining that Maggie declined his proposal, to which Luke declares: "You're not going to marry her...so I guess I will." Maggie resents her father's intrusion in her life. The sale of Fine Daddy simply pushed her over the edge. When Luke proposes, "Marry me, and you can have your horse back, money to continue competing-and me as a trainer." While she doesn't initially believe the sincerity of Luke's proposal, Maggie accepts with her mother listening, "Why not? I've got nothing better to do." So begins their outrageous elopement to Los Vegas and a marvelous interplay of family dynamics that keeps the pace moving briskly along. In the second of the Tall, Dark & Eligible miniseries, author Eileen Wilks again presents a delightful romance with LUKE'S PROMISE. Attraction between these charming characters has existed for many years, but the events that give impetus to forming a relationship prove to be heart warming and amusing. Luke's defense of Maggie to her parents following overheard insults alone makes the book a marvelous read. Highly recommended.

Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: Luke West sweeps Maggie Stewart off her feet in a whirlwind wedding. He needs to marry right away, and Maggie has her own reasons for marrying the confirmed bachelor. Another of Eileen Wilks Tall Dark and Eligible bachelors bits the dust. <g> And another Eileen Wilks for my keeper shelf. Next up Michael.... I can't WAIT!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Read! Review: Much better! The second in the Tall, Dark and Eligible series by Eileen Wilks is definitely a keeper. Luke West is the second of three brothers out to wed as quickly as possible and he's set his eyes on Maggie Stewart. He's furious that her father has sold her beloved horse, Fine Dandy, but has come up with a plan to aid his friend of many years into keeping her heart's treasure. Proposing a temporary and problem solving arrangement for them both, Luke whisks Maggie away to Las Vegas to be married. In the beginning his plan appears to be working perfectly. That is until his true feelings for the woman he's known for so long begin to surface. But Luke has the reputation of being a womanizer and has strived for years to live up to that reputation. Is it possible that now he can become faithful to one woman? The heat that erupts from Luke and Maggie jumps from the pages of this marvelous tale of need, friendship, and developing love. The characters are so well developed they stay with you in your mind long after the last page. I didn't much care for JACOB'S PROMISE, the first in the Tall, Dark and Eligible series, but I will definitely be seeing the series through to the end and see what the third brother, Michael has in store for us.
