Rating: Summary: A beautiful magical romance Review: During a May Day celebration in 1899 Pennsylvania, at the urging of his girl friend Serena Keller, staid banker Patrick O'Toole makes a secret wish, which faerie Rosaleen Flynn has been sent by her king to grant. Rosaleen, whose magic often goes astray, hopes this time to earn her wand. At about the same time, leprechaun Eamon Dooley has been sent to help lonely and arty Annette Brennon obtain her deepest desires. Eamon, whose magic seems to fail more often than not, hopes to earn his pot of gold. When Rosaleen and Eamon meet, sparks fly as the two magical beings are very attracted to one another. However, they both have responsibilities that would push Patrick and Annette together. Since Patrick and Annette are already attracted to one another and the magical beings have the same objective, a discerning observer would think that their magical love would easily wrap up with A FAERIE TALE ending. However, when the two magical beings have the performance records of Rosaleen and Eamon, and mortals like the spoiled Serena and her father the mayor, who wants to abscond with the Brennon fortune, a lasting relationship seems doomed to failure. However, love is the most powerful magic in the universe. A FAERIE TALE is a magical romp that features two lovely couples (one mortal and one magical) that will be thoroughly enjoyed by readers who take pleasure from lighthearted, well-written magical love stories. The historical elements add a certain innocence that propel the spectacular story line forward. Patrick and Annette are a fine couple, but it is the well-meaning but bumbling faerie and leprechaun, who raises this novel to must reading by fans of adult fairy tales. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Magic and Mischief Review: Eamon and Rosaleen's discovery of each other adds a delightful subplot to a solid book. The magical element hightens the conflict between Patrick and Annie, two souls whose opposite natures can't help but attract!
Rating: Summary: Delightful and Fun! Review: I just finished this book and found it just plain fun. If you love the "magic" of true love and whimsey makes your heart sing then this is for you. There are enough twists in turns to keep it interesting as well as characters that seem so real you'd swear you know them in *real life*:-)
