Rating: Summary: My Angel Review: From the moment Angela Chamberlain first sees Devil Blackmoor, she's hooked. Her father is about to send her to finishing school, but Angela wants adventure. And adventure is what she gets with Devil Blackmoor. Devil, or Alexi Popov as he is known in his native Russia, wants Angela very much. Of Turkish and Russian descent, he is a prince; so bloodlines are very important. He needs a virgin of noble blood. Because he met her in a bordello, he thinks Angela is neither. He takes her from Denver to New York to make her his mistress. Across the Atlantic to London and all the way to Russia, she holds herself apart from him. But Angela is in grave danger. Unusual and exotic characters people the landscape of this fresh and involving novel. Christine Young is a delicious new voice in romantic fiction with a gift for taking tried and true plot lines and making them her own
Rating: Summary: My Angel Review: MY ANGELAngela Chamberlain doesn't want to go to an eastern finishing school like her father insists. She wants adventure and romance. She gets all of that and more when she encounters Devil Blackmoor. Devil Blackmoor, whose real name is Alexis Popov, is the son of a sultan and the heir to a Russian throne. While in America, he is a gun for hire. Devil Blackmoor is employed to find Emma Barringer, the wife of Dakota Barringer. Dakota grew up with Angela teaching her to ride and shoot better than any man. When Devil captures Emma and takes her to her stepfather's (Devil's employer) bordello, Angela goes to the bordello to help Emma. There she meets Devil who thinks she is one of the girls. From there on, circumstances spiral out of control. Angela gets her adventure whether she wants it or not. She ends up with Alexis (Devil) in Russia. He wants her more than any other woman and will take her as his mistress, but won't marry her because he thinks she is low born. She is too stubborn to tell him she is a very wealthy heiress with a very unforgiving father. MY ANGEL could be a good book if it explained a few more things or was a sequel. It's as if someone has dissected it then put it back together with a few pieces missing. This makes the course of the story very convoluted. Too many things are thrown at you in the first few pages for any of it to make much sense. Another bad point for me is that Devil's and Angela's attraction is too combustibly spontaneous to be believable. A lot of coincidences and scenes in this book are just unbelievable. The story is not all bad though. Some of the sub-characters (Dakota, Emma, Jacob, Trey) are interesting and need to be explored. Maybe we'll see their stories. I think Angela's character develops in the end, but Devil's attitude during the whole story stinks. This is really disappointing. I was looking forward to a tall, dark, handsome, longhaired, gunslinging, Turkish, and Russian Prince as a hero. Reviewed by: M.Pfantz
Rating: Summary: This is sort of a sequel Review: This book "My Angel", comes after the book "Dakota's Bride". In "Dakota's Bride" (which is an excellent book) you meet Angela, Sam, Devil, Dakota, Emma, the whole cast of characters. Itis sure to answer many questions about the book that may come up in "My Angel".
