Rating: Summary: First in a Trilogy Review: Characterizations is what makes Ginna Gray's books. She will often use old romance plots, but by the time she is finished with them, they seem fresh and new. This book is no exception. The hero is a cop that has been wounded in the line of duty. Seeking to escape reporters and well-meaning friends, he grudgingly agrees to spend his recuperation time at an old hunting lodge of his friend's. What his friend doesn't tell him is that the lodge is also occupied by a former policy psychiatrist who is now running a home for foster children. The heroine is a strong, sure woman and the children wring your heart. Of course, between her and the children, the cop is healed both physically and mentally. I recommend it. The characters are likable and deep, with just enough conflict. It's also good enough that you will be awaiting the next installment titled, "In Search of Dreams".
