Summary: Good Americana romance
Review: As a young girl, Elle Beaumont wanted nothing more than for Noah Garrett to love her. But when she accidentally revealed a stunning family secret, she sent him running away from her and the life he knew. Now, ten years later, he's back in Pilot Island, North Carolina, but the Elle of today is much different from the Elle of youth. She isn't willing to chase what won't be hers freely. Can Noah and Elle overcome the past that both binds and separates them?

This is a great read for any fan of historical romance. Tracy Sumner writes two characters who have been hurt so badly that they are bound and determined to stick to the things that they know will keep them safe. Elle has a sadness about her that is so real, and the way Noah hides behind spectacles and books is a true portrayal of a man burned. Some great interactions and good conflict!

Summary: An emotional story by Tracy Sumner
Review: Courtesy of Love Romances

Elle Beaumont has been in love with Noah Garrett for as long as she can remember, way back to her childhood even. She was a spitfire of a girl, always getting into trouble, and Noah was always coming to her rescue. There was a connection between them, one that no one could explain, least of all themselves. When he left Pilot Island, NC ten years ago, young Elle's heart had been broken, and her love for Noah died with it.

Noah was always being hounded bythe young girl Elle had been, so much so, it came to annoy him after a while, but he tolerated it nonetheless. When Elle had the misfortune of finding out about a dark Garrett family secret, she tried to hide it from him. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful, and when Noah found out the truth, he fled the Island, swearing never to return to his home and family, and he flung Elle's feeling aside as he made his escape.

But now Noah is back, ten years later, a hard, cold man, dedicated to his life as a scientist, and determined to avoid Elle. When he sees her for the first time, he is taken aback. The young tomboy had grown into a beautiful young woman, whose heart has grown numb to the love she once held for him. Or so she tries to tell herself... The young love she held for Noah has now changed, becoming the love of a woman for the man she will dedicate her life to. She is determined to deny it though, afraid of having her heart broken once again. Noah is startled to find he also has feelings for Elle, resolute in his conviction to ignore it, never forgetting her role in his discovery of his family skeleton. He finds he can't though and begins to realize maybe this love between them can grow into something even more special then it was before.

This was a delightful read. Elle and Noah are so insistent that any sort of feelings between them cannot be. How is it that everyone else in town can see the attraction but them? The emotion rolling from them in waves is palpable, all mixed up with the hurt of many years before. Ms. Sumner depicts the confusion between them beautifully. Noah's relationship with his brothers is well drawn as well, and the grief all three of them felt over the revelation of a decade ago and the enduring impact it had on their lives. The agony each feels over their part of what drove Noah away is blended with the bond they have as brothers, which goes beyond blood. All of this is rendered in such a way that the reader can't help but feel their pain.

The descriptions of Pilot Island and the life there of the townspeople are rich in detail and historical fact. In spite of the writing skill apparent throughout the book, some parts tend to drag on, being a bit too mired in detail, resulting in a slower paced story. Still, this was a worthy read and Ms. Sumner has written a story rich in historical detail and the emotions of her characters. It is well worth the time taken to finish the book.

Summary: A Fantastic Book for Every Romantic!
Review: I had the pleasure of reading an early copy of Tracy Sumner's terrific second novel, TIDES OF LOVE, and I absolutely loved it! Even now, months after I turned the last page, I can still see Elle and Noah and recall their special love story as if it was yesterday. To me, that's the true sign of a keeper novel!

Tracy Sumner has an enviable talent for creating complex characters, vivid settings, and touching (not to mention sensual) plots. Reading a Tracy Sumner novel makes you feel as if you're right there living it. Finishing a Tracy Sumner novel makes you want to jump back in and start reading all over again. She can't write fast enough for me!

Summary: Another winner by Tracy Sumner!
Review: I throughly enjoyed Carolina Rose, so I was excited about reading Tracy's next book. Again set in the south, Tides of Love is a wonderful novel. Noah Garrett and Elle Beaumont seem made for each other, even if they don't know it. Especially Noah. And the setting is described in perfect detail. I could feel the ocean breezes and smell the salt air.

Also, it's quite a hot novel. Sizzling love scenes and dramatic emotions. I loved it!

Summary: When two opposites attract, love sizzles!
Review: Marielle-Claire (Elle) Beaumont lived in France until she was four years old, and when her loving mother died, she came to America to live with her father. Ignored and lonely, a young Noah Garrett became her champion and it was his mother, Eliza, who gave this little girl love and comfort. The little red-haired imp flew from one disaster to another, and followed her hero around like a little lost puppy. When Eliza died, a secret from her past was revealed in a journal that was so shocking it made Noah ran away, not to be heard from or seen again for ten years. Noah spent many of those years near starvation as he struggled through college, and he's now a renowned biologist. He's been sent to his childhood home to head up a research lab. Not ready emotionally to face his brothers, and attempting to arrive in secret, it is his luck to literally run into his old nemesis, Elle Beaumont.

Elle is a petite beauty, but also very disorganized and impulsive; while the tall, handsome, scholarly Noah is ruled by logic, and is a neatnic. Yet, author, Tracy Sumner, brings these two characters together and no matter how hard he fights it, she delivers a yummy love story. As in CAROLINA ROSE, this author's unique voice and descriptive words take you into the story. Sometimes you will laugh at Elle's antics and other times will grab a kleenex . You might breathe a few sighs during sensual love scenes, and cheer when Mr. Logic loses control. TIDES OF LOVE is a beautifully written love story, touched with humor and emotion and destined to find a spot on your keeper shelves.

Summary: Wonderful, touching romance
Review: Since the age of ten Elle Beaumont has loved Noah Garrett. But after one terrible day after an awful discovery Noah leaves Pilot Island, North Carolina not to return for ten long years. Now Noah Garrett is back, but he's not the same man who left. Determined to reject Elle and devote his life to marine biology Noah shuts Elle out, refusing to believe in true love.

Now grown up, Elle tries to pretend she doesn't still love Noah, but a love so strong is hard to deny. Especially when her love is slowly returned.

This was my first book I read by Tracy Sumner and I truly enjoyed Elle and Noah's wonderful love story. Highly recommended.

Summary: Fabulous!
Review: Sometimes you read a book and the characters never leave your mind and TIDES OF LOVE is such a book. Elle and Noah are passionate and wonderful. Their insecurities, their passions and their fears blend into the story perfectly -- so perfectly that you know that these two are really in love, even if they only exist on paper. Tracy Sumner is going to make her own waves if this book is proof -- a writer I would look out for in the bookstore.

Summary: Sensual Magic!
Review: Tides of Love is a must-read for any romance reader who loves strong heroines and unforgettable heros. Noah and Elle are all that and more. Plus, I liked the setting very much. I have never been to the Outer Banks of North Carolina (and certainly not in 1898!!!) but really wish to go now. I also like the hotter edge in this book. Some of the best love scenes I've read in a long time. (I am a loyal Susan Johnson and Thea Devine reader.) It is also sweet and very romantic. Ms. Sumner delves deeper into the character's than is the norm too.
