Rating: Summary: Don't judge this book by it's cover ! ! ! Review: I am in love with this book! The fun and depth of these characters was a real surprise to me. When I looked at the cover I never expected to share the level of intimacy this writer brought to the fore. The writing is clever and the research is accurate(I know from experience). It's hard to talk about this one without giving the plot away, but the author definitely put a lot of effort into developing it and my hat is off to her. My recommendation to anybody looking for a good read is -- get this one! You will not regret it.
Rating: Summary: McFarland hits it on the nose! Review: I can't help but wonder if this writer is as people-friendly as her writing is. She comes across with the kind of warmth, wit, and humor every one of us wants in a BEST friend. In "When Love Calls", this writer asks the kind of questions we all want answers to. She tells the kind of jokes we all want to have in our personal repertoire. She gives us the kind of options we would reserve for ourselves if life allowed us to do it all over again, with the advantage of hindsight. Her characters make us smile, cry, laugh out loud, and then look for the ones we love -- just because. To give this book only five stars is a travesty! It deserves a star for every one of the smiles and thoughts it brings to its' satisfied readers. Come on Gail, give us more, more, more!
Rating: Summary: Don't judge this book by it's cover ! ! ! Review: I only wish I'd found this book earlier. The humanity and wit displayed by this writer are exciting to see and delightful to be a part of. With every page I turned and every word I read, I felt more and more a part of this story. I **was** Davida! I can still feel the tenderness of Marc's touch on my cheek! And I experienced Destiny's joy and pain every step of the way! I loved the fact that Ms. McFarland took the time to let us walk the sweet and romantic path that two people joined by loving families were able to find. I was happily able to share this book with both my daughter and my mother. It felt good to read something that was both mature and sensual. It felt even better to see quality writing. As in Summer Wind and The Best For Last, the plotline and characters never disappoint. I would love to see this one as a movie, but more than that, I would love to see more from this writer.

Rating: Summary: I'm shocked! Review: I'm shocked that no one seems to know the truth about this book--that the author plagarized more than 100 pages of "Hotline" by Gina Wilkins. Yes, that's right. Copied word for word. Wilkins and the publisher of Ms. McFarland's "work" reached an out of court settlement, but Ms. McFarland has never apologized or admitted her crime. (Yes, crime.) DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. If you do, you are supporting someone I can only call a thief and a criminal... I encourage Amazon to remove this book from their catalogue. I'm sure they don't want a reputation for selling the works of plagarists. Shame on you, Ms. McFarland, especially in the statement on the book page thanking everyone for the support of "your work." Ugh.
Rating: Summary: My mother always said, "saying Thank You is polite". Review: In this case, a simple thank you is far from adequate. I am tremendously grateful for your comments and support of my work, and this story in particular. It means so much to know that other people share the emotion and enjoyment I've sought to convey. Frankly, your responses send me straight into "girlfriend mode"! You make me want to kick off my shoes and sit and gossip about all the characters involved. Thank you for making me and each of these characters feel so very welcome.
Rating: Summary: A Theft is a theft Review: It's called stealing. The author needs to use her own creativity and talent--write her own book--instead of stealing another author's words.
This is a shame. Very sad.
Rating: Summary: wonderful Review: this book was a little different with davida and marc, finding love over the phone first, when he called the wrong number by mistake. i throught it was a wonderful story line
Rating: Summary: A criminal plagarised this book. Review: This book was copied mostly word for word from Gina Wilken's book "Hotline". I also believe that the "author" is repeatedly writing reviews of "her" book on amazon.com.
