Summary: NOT BORING BUT NOT TERRIBLY EXCITING!
Review: Dr. Shayne Kerrigan is a man who has not learned to express his emotions. When his parents died, he at 18 was not ready to assume the responsibilities of his younger brother, Ben, at 15. But he did.

His brother's attitude was more easygoing [and messy] as Sydney Elliot found out when Shayne offered her Ben's room temporarily.
But the situation soon helped Sydney to reach out and make contact with Shayne's children, Mac and Sara.

Sydney wanted to learn to fly Shayne's Cessna as Shayne and Jeb Kellogg were the only pilots [and transportation] in and out of Hades, Alaska. All she get to do is taxi the plane Until -----

Klondyke "Ike" LeBlanc is Shayne's oldest friend and does his flirtiest to convince Sydney to take on Shayne in place of Ben.
Ike and his cousin, Luc run the Salty Saloon where all of the men gather to socialize. Not many women thereabouts.

Now the line that spoiled the story for me was - "Shayne did not delude himself into thinking that his was her first and knew he wouldn't be her last" Ugh! what does that say about Sydney's life style? If they think it's love feel free to indulge in sex? Bull! Are lady characters are not ladies at all.

Story is an OK read - moves well - family situations excellent but----- as a love story kind of mush. Personable characters but their interaction? Shayne's got problems - Sydney's got more problems -- Ah well, on to the next installment of Hades, Alaska with Ike LeBlanc in STAND-IN MOM. We will see if there is an improvement.

Summary: :)
Review: Dr. Shayne Kerrington has not had an easy life. He opens a clinic in Alaska and soon after his wife leaves him taking their two children. Shayne is not able to see his children for years until his ex-wife is killed and the children are brought back to Alaska to live with their father. He is a stranger to his own children and they are not all that thrilled to come and live with him. Shayne also has a younger brother that seems to never take things seriously. Shayne is constantly cleaning up his brothers life messes. The latest is a real whopper. Shayne must go tell his brother's mail-order bride that her fiancee ran off to marry someone else. Shayne was sure that once Sydney found out what his brother did that she would be on the next flight out of Alaska. Instead she suprises him by announcing that she plans to stay. Shayne feels he has no choice but to offer her a room at his house.

Both Shayne and Sydney have been burned in the past and neither of them want to repeat that mistake. It gets hard for them to deny their attraction to each other. Sydney, Shayne, and his children make a great family. I would have liked for Shayne's brother to have made an appearance in this book. I think that it would have added to the story. This is a quick easy read.
