Rating: 2 stars
Summary: boring
Review: The back cover summary of this story looked deceptively interesting...be aware readers though that the marriage doesn't take place until the book is almost done. Hence, even the title of this book is misleading.

The heroine is rather quick to judge others, and although she is a determined do-gooder, I just couldn't warm to her. The Viscount is more likeable but again, the story plods along so slowly with so many other characters that I yawned through most of the book wondering when the two were going to have SOME romance.

The description of the textile mills, the politics of the times, and sentencing systems were all informative, the setting, too, somewhat original. I found myself feeling that if the characters were more finely drawn and if the romance was more interesting it could have been a book worth reading.

Unfortunately, no matter how informative the book, if the characters are not interesting and it does not entertain, I cannot recommend it. I will, however, probably give the author another try.
