Summary: Trying to Deal with Life
Review: Bailey had been moved to a small Colorado town as
Pres. of the bank. She tries to be fair to the people
of the town and yet maintain firm policies at the bank.
In the process she buys a place called Windsong Ranch.
She meets her neighbor Trent Murdock. They both are
hard working people trying to deal with life itself.
Slowly Bailey bringings Trent back from a dramatic
time in his life that has caused him to hide from the
world. Bailey meets Macy who was a friend to Trent's
daught Sarah and with Macy's help Trent begins to come
back to life even more. Love from Bailey, Macy and his
family made Trent realize that life really does go on.
I enjoyed this book. Love heals many wounds.

Summary: Fabulous Debut Novel!
Review: Brenda Mott weaves a well-crafted tale of a grieving father trying to overcome his fear of loving and losing again.

Trent Murdock lost his little girl and his marriage, and stuggles with opening himself up to that kind of hurt again. But there's something about the spunky city-girl-turned-small-town-banker who moves in next door. Can Bailey help Trent live and love again? Because she wants it all - the big farmhouse with the picket fence AND children to share it. Falling for a guy like Trent who has no interest in any more children could be the biggest mistake she's ever made. On the other hand, it could just be the right thing for both of them.

The author's writing style is smooth, and easy-to-read. The story reaches deep and pulls at the heartstrings. Though this is Ms. Mott's first book, I predict (and sincerly hope!) it won't be her last.

Summary: TEAR JERKING - HEART WARMING STORY!
Review: DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP.
The Story of Trent Murdock and Bailey Chancellor touches a wide range of emotions. The Story of little Sarah really held the characters together. Sarah was truly of the angels.

Would have like to have seen the 57 Chevy - souped up you say? Chase was great but a bit short. Macy becomes an endearing character, glad she didn't get hurt.

With the characters hang-ups and fears, the popping into bed seemed a bit on the stupid side. But hey, I lay that demand at the door of the editors. Only ichy spot in a great story.

B. Mott must have a bit of knowledge of the Arabian horses which was refreshing, I loved the way she incorporated them into the story adding more demension to the characters. Darned nice blonde guy on the front - a bit of a change.

Great read - well put together - Highly Recommended --M beautiful covers - front and back.

Summary: The most heartwarming romance of 2002!!!!!!
Review: I absolutely loved this book!! The characters are so rich, the conflicts so real. []this novel was not what most people think of when they stereotype the romance genre. []This book dealt with a very tough issue--the death of a child and the pain of getting past that and moving on with one's life. The author was painstaking in her portrayal of this kind of suffering, which only made the ending all the more touching. It was life-like--the death isn't flossed over; it's not an excuse to get two people together. It is a very real conflict that many people face in the real world. No one could have written a more poignant account of this kind of heartache, nor the healing power of love. Kudos to Ms. Mott for such a touching, emotional story! She's an automatic buy for me from now on!

Summary: Just another romance novel.
Review: I feel Ms. Mott's talents would be better used elsewhere. In a different genre. It appears to me that her talents are oppressed by the standard algorithms all (published) romance novelests are required to use when writing their romance novels.

Give this book a read. (The characters do have more personality than most romance novel characters I've encountered.) But when you're done, write a letter to Ms. Mott. Encourage her to transcend her apparant feelings of inferiority that seem to cause her to feel as if the romance genre is the only one she can be published in.

Being a woman who has had much horse-experience myself, I can appreciate the precise accuracy of Ms. Mott's horse-related details in this novel.

(MS. MOTT!!! Your creativity is like a penned wild horse, waiting to be let free from the hoof-shackles Harlequin keeps on it!)

Summary: A heartwarming story!
Review: Since other reviewers have told the premise of the story, let me just say that I found the book could have only been written by a person who KNOWS about horses and ranching. There couldn't have been any outside research, here. My hat is off to Ms. Mott, who reversed the roles a little in making the heroine the banker and the hero, just another cowboy waiting for the right lady.
I loved it! If you're a romance reader, you won't want to miss this one!
