Rating: Summary: The Essential Love Story Review: As it says on the cover of this remarkable book, "Unlike any love story you have ever read, it yet captures the essence of every love story ever written." Jacob Needleman The author's literary and poetic writing style carried me through this intensely sad and yet beautiful tale of two lovers who continue their love even after death. I read it twice in a few days and got more out of it the second time even than the first. I plan to read it again.

Rating: Summary: The greatest soulful novel in years Review: This is a very soulful, enigmatic, romantic, and beautiful book. It tells the story of a life-partnership continuing after death, of the merging and meeting of two worlds, and provides the reader with deep comfort. Based on a true story, it shows us that life after death can exist in its own way and we can draw sustenance from those we love but are no longer with us, even after they have long departed. If we truly love, we love forever, no matter what the "life" is. I regard this as one of the greatest novels been published in recent years. Read it now!
Rating: Summary: Remarkable, extraordinary. Review: When I read "Lovely Bones" I was disappointed in the way the author tied the whole story to some silly religious belief!!! Do we truly think that there is a God to greet us at the pearly gates? How absurd can you get! With Promise of Dawn there is no muddled religious attitude - the people are real, "visible," loving, romantic. They live together even though they live entirely apart in two different dimensions. And yet there is nothing ghostly or scienfictiony about the story - it is entirely realistic and we find ourselves in their reality. Beautiful literary prose, a poetic novel - the author carries the reader along in a world that exists beyond our own. This is one of the most wonderful works of fiction I have ever read.
