Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Story-telling at its best! Review: As always,Patricia Potter pens a novel that involves the reader instantly in the lives of her characters. In STARFINDER, she excels in portraying the emotions that torments the lovers, and yet keeps them realistic. Kudos to Ms Potter for giving us yet another classic love story!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best of the "star" trilogy.......wonderful. Review: It's always difficult to understand a bad review on something you really enjoyed, be it a book, movie, etc.. I am NOT a big scots fan...accent, history or any of the above. BUT Potter is an incredible author and her stories are nearly always worth reading. I read this not even knowin it was part of a trilogy. The characters are wonderful with depth, issues, angst and all the things that good characters have. The children and the animals always add a delightful dimension and often insight. They have a way of pulling the characters out of their emotional dungeon and into the world. And people are often at their best with them.I never understood why Ian had such a young sister. He was intent on searching for "katy" but the age thing was a bit puzzling. Knowing the bad guy wasn't a problem because he was powerful and you never knew how Ian was going to help Fancy get out of his grasp. Francy's pain at not being able to read...when we take it so for granted...was an interesting twist. I highly recommend this book. I am currently reading the star sequel which is the little boy Noel's story. While it is also very good it doesn't have the multifacets that this one does. yet they're both keepers..............p.s. yes, hannah, you are the only one who didn't like this book! :)
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Dullsville................. Review: O.k. Was I the only one who didn't think this book was great. The book dragged! The first 100 pages were just a struggle to get through. Then the last 200 were a struggle. A book needs to hold the attention of the reader and let me tell you that this did not. Every little distraction that came my way was a welcome repreive. I had heard such good things about this book from reading the below reviews and was really looking forward to a good book. But if you are looking for a good book, PASS THIS ONE UP. It was just plain dull and the middle cannot make up for the boring beginning and end.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: My first Potter book but not my last! Review: Patricia Potter has created a plot that will have your attention from beginning to end. The story of Ian's tragic loss of family and country catches you and pulls you in. The love relationship between Fancy and Ian is one to treasure! Don't plan on scheduling activities once you start this book. What a treat for me to have discovered this author. Now I will be going back for her other books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: WOW! Great book! Review: Patricia Potter has done it again. I was hooked on the first page, and couldn't put it down until the very last page. I became a fan of her westerns and didn't know if I'd like these as well since they aren't in the west, but I think she's gotten even better, shen I didn't think it was possible! All I have to say is, "Thank you, Ms Potter!"
Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: Book of my heart Review: StarFinder is one of those special books that writes itself. It had been bubbling inside me for years: the tale of a Scotsman who finds love and honor after Culloden. Since I equally enjoy Scotland and Colonial America, I could indulge myself in the pure joy of using history to tell a story that I hope is both tender and poignant.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great read until . . . Review: Starfinder was a great read and kept me content until the last five chapters. Things slowed way down then and finishing was a push. The ending was too long and the story needed to end about 30 pages sooner. Also, Fancy's reaction to the crisis was a bit too tepid to believe, and the villain was just too bad to believe. Not enough layering, no real dimension--flat. Had he been better developed, the ending might have had better pacing. Otherwise, I've heard great things about Patricia Potter and I fully intend to read the rest of her books. She's clearly a gifted writer and we need all those we can get!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wonderful! Review: This is one of my favorite Patricia Potter books. The characters are so real and face dificulties with honor and strength. One of the most emotional books I've read in a long time. Yes, Hannah, I do believe you were the only one who found this book dull...
