Rating: Summary: One Of The Best Romance Story Collections I Have Read! Review: A Homespun Mother's Day is a collection of romance stories and every story is terrific which seems to be very rare with these collections of shorter romance tales. Emma's Day is written by Jill Metcalf. It is set in 1878 in Ohio and features an older heroine in her early 40's named Emma Porter who has a grown daughter who is married and on her own. Emma is being wooed by a newcomer to her town named Ward Hamilton but because her late husband treated her badly she is suspicious of men and Ward has to try with the help of her daughter to get her to trust him and love him just as much as he loves her. Twice Blessed is written by Rebecca Hagen Lee, it is set in 1919 in Florida. In this story a young woman named Lydia Turner who lives in a small town rents out a building to a man named Thomas Sullivan who has a young son and they wind up spending a lot of time together. Coming Home is written by Teresa Warfield and is my favorite of the stories. It is set in 1911 in Missouri. A young woman named Rachel Cameron who I think is about 18 years old. She lives on a farm with her father, grandmother and brother. She has a love of reading and when she meets a writer named Timothy Benton who shares her love of reading and has the biggest collection of books she has ever seen he agrees to let her come to his house and read but he thinks that she has gotten permission from her stern father which she hasn't so when they fall in love, Daddy's not to happy because he is worried about Rachel's reputation and if I recall correctly he already has someone in mind for Rachel who he thinks is a nice outstanding member of their town but is actually unknown to him really a bully and a lech. All the stories are great but Coming Home is my favorite and I very highly recommend this book which I think is good enough for the keeper shelf!
Rating: Summary: These stories are about special mothers. Review: I loved these little love stories -- especially Twice Blessed. Thomas is a wonderful hero and I love the way Lydia learned to be a mother to Robert. I also liked the time and the setting. The people of the little beach town of Eden Point really came to life! I highly recommend this special story.

Rating: Summary: I Loved Reading This Book! Review: I read A Homespun Mother's Day which is one of the best books of short story romances that I have ever read and like the other short story books I have read this one features romances by different authors. Emma's Day by Jill Metcalf is about an older heroine named Emma Porter who finds love with a younger man named Ward Hamilton. Twice Blessed by Rebecca Hagen Lee, is about Lydia Turner who falls in love with a newcomer to her small town named Thomas Sullivan and tries to help his young son Robert adjust to life in a strange new place. Coming Home by Teresa Warfield is in my opinion the best story and is about Rachel Cameron a young lady with a love of reading books who falls for a new comer to her area a writer named Timothy Benton. This book is great and I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Good, especially the story by Teresa Warfield Review: I really liked the Historical American short stories in this romance compilation, they are great short stories that aren't too short like in some other romance compilations, I especially liked Coming Home by Teresa Warfield, I really liked the nice down to earth characters, my favorites are Timothy Benton, and Rachel Cameron and I really felt that they definitely made a great couple, I also liked Rachel's grandmother Lydia, also I just can totally relate to Timothy's Rachel's and Lydia's love for books and like Rachel I would be totally amazed by Timothy's wonderful collection of books! My second favorite story is Twice Blessed by Rebecca Hagan Lee, it is a nice story, I liked the heroine Lydia Turner and I both liked and at times disliked the hero Thomas Sullivan a doctor who has just arrived from France with his insecure young son, I liked how Lydia was so patient and so caring to Thomas's son Robert but I felt that Thomas could have been a little more understanding to poor Robert's feelings, okay Robert could be bratty but he was only about 4 or 5 years old and scared and lonely, his mother has died and his father who he barely knows and has maybe seen once or twice in his life has plucked him out of his country and brought him to a new country which has got to be scary to a little kid being moved to a new place. Also what was big deal to Thomas about Robert speaking French, sure you would want him to also be able to speak English but what would be so wrong to let him also speak French which is his first language and part of his heritage and also what was the big deal to Thomas about Robert wanting his name Robert pronounced the French way which is kind of like Ro-Bear, I say let the kid pronounce his name the only way he knows, afterall that was how his late mother being French would have pronounced it. The other story Emma's Day by Jill Metcalf was good and I liked the heroine Emma Parker and the hero Ward Hamilton but it wasn't my favorite of the stories, If you like short romance stories than you will probably like this book.
