Rating: Summary: Ridiculous.... Review: I'm tired of reading crappy books and my last 3 have been dismal. Killjoy by (usually fabulous) Julie Garwood was all action and plot and no chemistry or romance between the main characters; Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by (usually hilarious) Julia Quinn was bland, boring and full of inane dialogue. Now this: Wild Thing by Anne Stuart. 5 star reviews convinced me to give this thin little Tarzan story a try. Well, it's an insult to a reader's intelligence and a waste of time. (Supposedly) super intelligent Dr. Elizabeth Holden (Libby) helps her prize anthropological specimen escape from a suspicious research facility and after having been with this irresistible hunk 'o' male for a day, jumps him for a passionate sexual interlude on the rocks of a hidden lagoon paradise. After a huge misunderstanding, where Libby displays more immature behaviour than your average teenager, they discover they are soul-mates and can't live without each other.COME ON - GIVE ME A BREAK!! Wild Thing, with its unbelievable premise, flat, one-dimensional characters, a heroine I had no respect for and a superficial ending, made me skim the last 100 pages just to get it done. HELP ME- where have all the good books gone???...
Rating: Summary: Beauty and the Beast goes modern Review: My first romance by this author and wow!...will I be going back for more!!!The story line might not be to everyone's taste, since it is a touch (well lots) unbelievable. Since I read a lot of sci-fi this did not cause me any problems. What is important is the way the Libby and the wild man react together. They are great together - believable but not at all predictable. Plus they are both likeable as people - she has a lot of integrity, putting her career at risk to do what she knows is right and he is just ...well, can't think how to describe it... but my toes are still curling. There is an element of danger keeping the pace fast and I certainly read it fast - in one go, did not even stop for a cup of tea, just woosh, devoured! If you like a story-line that is a bit off-beat, or ever enjoyed Tarzan, I would highly recommend WT

Rating: Summary: Terrific quick read Review: The other reviewers have all given a brief synopsis of the story, so I'm not going into that. This book is part of the Harlequin Romance series -- one that I have avoided for many years because I prefer the "full length" novels and more detailed plot/character development. I bought this book because I like Anne Stuart. Ms. Stuart did a terrific job of packing adventure, passion and romance in the 250 pages. I was sorry to see the story end. If you want an entertaining quick read or an introduction to Anne Stuart, read this. If you are a fan of Anne Stuart (and you keep in mind the page-constraints of writing a Harlequin Romance novel), get this. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Ridiculous.... Review: This book boast an outrageous, audacious plot (by Ms Stuart's own admission in an interview). But what do you know - I fell for it. Possibly because it was one of the first romance books I'd read for a long time (anyone more familiar with the genre should have predicted the mid-way "twist" on which so much hangs), and perhaps also because I was on vacation so my brain probably wasn't quite in gear. But to give credit where it's due, the fact that I could read this with pleasure without my brain howling in protest (though my credulity did whimper a little) is testament to Ms Stuart skill and mastery of her art. As with all romance fiction, don't expect anything intellectual, but hopefully if you are in the right frame of mind you will enjoy an undemanding and fun read.
