Summary: I loved this book!
Review: Marrying Jezebel is even better than Hillary Fields' The Maiden's Revenge. The setting is really out of the ordinary -- Egypt in the early 19th century -- and features lots of local color and interesting information on archaeology.

Most appealing of all, of course, is the steamy burgeoning love affair of Jezebel Montclair and her unwished for guardian, Rafe Sunderland. Ms. Fields once again introduces a strong-willed female heroine who is ultimately matched with a male opposite worthy of her regard.

This book is even better-written than her first, and I am anxiously awaiting Hillary Fields' next venture.

Summary: MARRYING JEZEBEL sizzles with romance and passion!
Review: MARRYING JEZEBEL is filled with characters of depth and substance whose lives are lived as if every day is their last. Although the chemistry between Rafe and Jezebel burns a hole through the pages, there is much more to their relationship than physical attraction, and it is a treat to see how they bond emotionally and intellectually as well. The reader will also be captivated with the beautiful settings and vivid imagery Ms. Fields took such pains to create. A well-crafted adventure that sizzles with romance and passion, MARRYING JEZEBEL is entertainment at its best!

Summary: A wonderful new talent!
Review: Marrying Jezebel is simply captivating. A great read with characters who are different from the norm. I can't wait to see what Hillary does next!

Summary: This cleverly written romance sparkles!
Review: Rafe Sunderland, Duke of Ravenhurst, has everything a man of his stature could ask for - power, position, and all the pleasures of proper society - and a free-spirited firebrand of a ward who could prove to be his downfall. To continue the life he's always known, there's only one thing he can do: get Jezebel married off to the first man who will take her off his hands. Raised in the Middle East by her archeologist uncle, Jezebel Montclair has her future all planned out--and those plans don't include letting her controlling new guardian clip her wings. Determined to remain free, she refuses to leave Egypt and live the life of a proper English lady. So when Rafe tracks her down in Cairo, despite her attraction to him, Jezebel knows she has to get away in order to protect her independence. Otherwise, she'll be doomed to a life of utter boredom in England. Under the heat of the Egyptian sun, tempers and passions flare between Rafe and Jezebel as she struggles to maintain her independence and Rafe battles his growing desire for this completely unsuitable woman. But for all the sparks that fly between them, Jezebel is a very unique woman and she leads Rafe on a wild ride to capture her heart and soul. This cleverly written romance sparkles with fantastic dialogue, unforgettable characters, and a storyline sure to keep readers on the lookout for the latest by Hillary Fields.

Summary: SHE WASN'T THE MARRYING KIND...
Review: The death of Jezebel Montclair's uncle is becoming a tragedy in more than one respect - for, as Jezebel soon discovers, the old explorer's will stipulates she must now become ward to a man she's never even met! But Jezebel wants only to remain in Egypt, where she and her uncle had sought to unlock the secrets of the majestic tombs left behind by the ancients - and had come thrillingly close to making a major discovery just before his death. No dictatorial new "guardian" is going to get in the way of her work now. Jezebel is determined to be rid of the man as soon as possible.

Rafe, it turns out, has the very same idea.

Raphael Alexander Sunderland, enormously wealthy and powerful duke of Ravenhurst, is no more pleased to discover he's inherited a ward than Jezebel is to be one. A man of many responsibilities, the last thing he wants is to go gallivanting off to faraway Egypt and collect the girl - nor does he want to deal with her when he finds her. There's only one thing to do, Rafe decides. He must marry her off with all due haste!

But when the two finally cross paths in exotic, nineteenth-century Cairo, all their plans fly out the window... Jezebel is not remotely the ward Rafe has been expecting... and gorgeous, arrogant Rafe Sunderland is nothing like her picture of a guardian.

I hope you will enjoy reading the story of these two stubborn, strong-willed lovers every bit as much as I enjoyed writing it. I believe Rafe and Jezebel will take you on a wonderful adventure!

Summary: Not as good as her debut
Review: The storyline was okay, albeit a bit far-fetched. The main problem is that the writing was tedious. It appeared as if the writed was herself bored as she wrote the story. I liked the Maiden's Revenge, so Hillary, try replicating your debut novel.

Summary: another great book from Hillary Fields!
Review: While I won't go into the plot, it was an unusual setting (Egypt) and therefore kept me hooked. You can tell a lot of research went into this, and that is one thing I really enjoy about the author's books. Her intelligent way of treating both the characters and the reader keep me reading.
