Rating: Summary: Shallow characters, unsatisfying plot Review: Allie, a computer info specialist, is sent to Moscow to research Faberge eggs for a CD-ROM but has a secret personal agenda as well. She intends to keep a promise she made to her beloved late great-grandmother, even though doing so could land her in a Russian jail. Much to Allie's consternation, her boss throws a monkey wrench in her plans by arranging for a friend to escort her while there. Virile Drake isn't the middle-aged bore she expected, though, and sparks soon fly between the two of them. Drake is pushy and autocratic and Allie is stubborn and independent but the two of them finally admit their desire for each other. Allie is soon contemplating opening up to him but her boss calls and reveals that Drake has a secret of his own--a fiancee back home. Rather than question Drake, Allie begins to pretend she doesn't really care about him. Drake is confused by the sudden change but refuses to give up on their relationship. Allie leaves, but he tracks her down to a cottage in the country where they finally confront each other. What is her secret? Why become involved with her when he has a fiancee? The answers seem to be tacked onto the end of the story for sympathy points rather than being part of an integral, climactic moment. Readable, but not recommended.
Rating: Summary: An Enjoyable Read Review: Reading this book is just like viewing one Meg Ryan's light romantic comedies. Don't use your brain or reasoning or analytical power; you would enjoy the sexual tension and the passion and the happy ever after ending.
