In the story, the heroine falls for the gardener, but he has a secret. When the heroine's brother becomes involved in some shady prescription drug deals, they have dire consequences on the heroine.

The basic plot is that the rich girl marries the gardener, and it's true she doesn't move in with him, right away, which could have been written differently, but it worked as at the time she was angry at the hero. The reason she is so weepy is because of a trauma she had in her past (causing her a clinical depresion), and the tragedy she faces. I thought that by the end, she was quite strong, not letting her father or brother, or the hero, control her.

The book does not have a deep, thought provoking plot, but is well written, and very enjoyable. If you are looking for an easy, quick read to help you escape for a few hours, this is the book for you.

Review: Despite popular opinion, I found this to be a good book. I did not give it 5 stars because the heroine, Belle Lindsay Newman, allowed her conniving father too much control over her life. He never deserved such loyalty from her. It was amazing, the dirt this rich ruler did in order to keep the Newman family name clean. It was way... pass time for her to move out of the "Big House".

The gorgeous hero, Mitch Rawlins aka Estate Manager, the gardener and Ex-FBI agent, considered the Boss' daughter off-limits but falls hard-loves Lindsay unconditionally and refuses to let her family sweep him under the carpet. Though they both had secrets, they eventually opened up to their true feelings for each other. The road is rough and has many twist and turns but it eventually becomes smooth sailing.....

Summary: Not very good
Review: I have enjoyed other books by this author, but this one was not worth the time to read it. The dialog was simplistic and unrealistic. The characters were not likeable or believable. It read like something written by a not very good amateur. If I wasn't already a fan of Mary Lynn Baxter, I would definitely avoid other books by her.

Review: I usually love M.L.Baxter. This book, however, stunk! Bad. The heroine was totally unlikable and a whiny baby (with a father complex). And, let's face it--things like getting married to the family "gardener" and then keeping the marriage a secret from family while you continue to live in the "big house" and he lives in the caretaker's cottage just don't happen in real life. DUMB! DUMB! DUMB!
