Rating: Summary: Unappealing characters, excessive plot Review: I've read other books that were intense and involving by Brenda Joyce, but this one was really disappointing! The main characters were just unlikeable and not sympathetic at all. The "hero" Dom is arrogant, selfish, and completely cavalier in his treatment of his wife Anne and his family. We're to believe that he ignored Anne for four years because he was tormented and feared loving her, but what about his mistress with whom he has two children?! Frankly, I wanted to know more about this woman - she must be more interesting than Anne if Dom had a five-year relationship with her and still sees her on a regular basis! As for Anne, she quickly lost any sympathy I felt for her as she disintegrated into a fearful, emotionally-unstable stereotypically "gothic" heroine. Throughout the book, she succumbs to Dom, then regrets it, angry at him and herself. She's been running the estate by herself for 4 years, so I expected her to have more gumption. I never felt that Dom valued or understood Anne as a person while Anne inexplicably loves the guy.Additionally, there are a lot of minor characters and they're all involved in the story, which further detracted from the Anne-Dom storyline, especially since nothing really changes in their relationship. The author also reveals who the culprit is early on, so the "mysterious" attacks on Anne don't generate any suspense. This whole plot point seemed unnecessary. The story could have been tighter if the author had concentrated on the relationships between Anne and Dom and within his family.
Rating: Summary: The plot line didn't involve love Review: It might just be me, but when I read a romance novel I want to be reaffirmed of my belief in love. Being told that the characters fell in love, without seeing any reason why, does not work. The hero was awful. Why did the heroine fall in love with him? And while there were reasons for him to fall in love with the heroine, it never seems as if the hero did. He just suddenly starts proclaiming love. Skip this, and move onto novels that make you, and the characters fall in love.
Rating: Summary: Terrific! Review: It was a page-turner. Each page is more and more interesting and exciting. The plot was great. It makes me feel that I am in the book and that I am part of it. You should definitely check it out.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully Compelling Book! Review: The love between Anne and Dom was almost tangible, and the Duke of Rutherford captured my heart with his wily nature. I'm glad Dom didn't marry Felicity...it would have been a terrible mistake. Wonderful book!
Rating: Summary: Sizzling! Review: There's just something about this book that is just so captivating. The plot is good; I like the little twist at the ending. Bit of a surprise but hat is laways good in a book. The sexual tension betwenn Dom and Anne is just so hot!
Rating: Summary: Exciting Compelling and Mysterious Review: This book actually made me think about what was going on. I had to figure out and think Who's doing this? I thought that in fact had I been Anne, I would have added a few holes to Dom's body for being an idiot and a total [fool]. Then I also would have thought of ways of "disciplining" him. HEHE. Read it-you'll love it.
Rating: Summary: Dom is almost the perfect gentleman Review: This book was quite the page turner, and the story line was well written with a lot of mystery that kept you going until the end. However, being the romantic person that I am, I held a lot of hostility towards Dom as he decided to leave Anne on the night of their wedding and abandon her for four years. Their love throughout the story grows and the passion between them sparks and rises to put the romance back into the story. Overall it had a lot of romantic quality but, I would not say that it is among one of Brenda Joyce's best.

Rating: Summary: Great Book!!! Review: This is one of the better romances one would want to read more than once. A great read!!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This was a very good book to read, kept interest all the way through, and made you feel as if you were one of the charavters. ..GREAT! If you are looking for other romance novels that truly touch your heart, you might try, Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher.I intended to give this book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. "Stolen Moments " which is reminiscent of "Love Story" is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. Like"Love Story" it is about a dying woman who has found true love. It is the love story of the nineties." It is a spellbinder. One I got reading I could hardly put it down. what terrific writing, Barbara has an exceptional gift!
