Rating: Summary: Silly for certain Review: As noted in the previous review, this book was contrived; it was also vacuous and just plain silly. It made me REALLY regret my rule of finishing every book I start. The plot was completely implausible. Seldom have I read such an unsatisfactory book about such irresponsible, childish, and unbelievable characters.

Rating: Summary: contrived Review: I don't really know what to say about this book. I read it all - surprisingly. But throughout the whole book I kept thinking that something wasn't right. First off, David is engaged to someone else 3/4's of the way through the book. He acts like HE'S gone off the deep end and of course Callie is naturally going to be perceived as crazy when she tells him she's a witch who's turned his uncle into a dog! Even I, who mostly goes along with the "suspended disbelief" for the sake of the story found this very NON-believable. The main characters were too different for me to ever consider that they could have any sort of future together. Also, the time in the book seemed to jump all over the place. I got really confused several times with their time references. When I thought a certain amount of time had passed (and I'm talking days or weeks), suddenly we were way ahead or way behind what it seemed it should be. If you really want to read Liz Ireland, I suggest trying "When I Think of You" instead. It was MUCH better written, with a more believable and sweeter story.
Rating: Summary: Only half-way there Review: I have to agree with the April 3, 2003 review: this book might have been a light-hearted agreeable diversion were it not for the silliness of it all. The plot has magical potential, but it just isn't enough.

Rating: Summary: The Best Romance Novel I've Ever Read Review: This is absolutely, by far and away, the best romance novel I've ever read. The sillines of it is what makes it such a joy! Not only does Liz Irelands sense of whimsy drive the plot, but it captures the zaniness that we all crave from romance. Campy, riotous fun. Read it!

Rating: Summary: FUNNY AND CHARMING..... Review: This is my first time reading a book by Liz Ireland but it certainly wont be my last. In CHARMED IM SURE, the heroine Callie Hauseman is a descendant of a long line of witches, well unorthodox witches and having absolutely no experience or training in her birthright Callie mistakenly puts a curse on her ungrateful, moody and cheap boss named Syrus which turns him into a puppy golden retreiver. Not only does Callie not know how to reverse the spell but she has to deal with Sy's estranged nephew and CPA David Teller.David is a hunky south boston native who is engaged to be married. While trying to track down his uncle Syrus, David comes across Callie who has Syrus (the dog) living with her. Callie tells David that the dog is his uncle and just like any other normal person David doesnt believe her. Well the story basically follows David coming to terms with his family, his engagement and his growing attachment to Callie Hauseman as well as slowly coming to terms with the fact that his uncle is now a dog. What I loved about the book was its funny dialogue between David and Callie, her spunky roommate Linelle and her two crazy witch aunts. Although there wasnt much love scenes that were scorching hot, the romantic tension between the two characters made up for that. Ireland lets the reader take a look inside the characters mind and tells us in depth how the characters are feeling and why. If you're a movie buff like I am , you will enjoy the many references to classic movies and movie stars that the heroine refers to in the story. Don't miss out on this cute book. Its witty, charming and is all around fun. I found myself laughing outloud many times. The story is fast paced, the plot is both creative and fun as well as interesting. There's not a boring part in the book. I sometimes wished that this book would be turned into a movie, it was that good. Check this book out..you'll definetely be charmed!!
