Summary: First Novel
Review: I have read all of Janet Lynnford's books and will make an exception for her first novel. The characters are unbelievable. Rozalinde is a merchant, navigator, mathmetician and can't add 2 and 2. Kit hates his father because he was so domineering and controlled everyone, yet he is the same way. It took forever for him to notice this logical, domineering, controlling, spoiled, unthinking female might not like being controlled by a "man". He can't believe he is like his father and blames his mother for everything knowing no one could fight back against his father. Where has his head been? All I can say is Janet gets better with each book and her themes are great...English Bobbin Lace, making special armor, training homing pidgeons to send messages between ships in the English fleet. Her last book "Firebrand Bride" is my favorite and my keeper. I am looking forward to Matthew's story in her latest "Bride of Hearts", hoping the characters have more common sense like Lucina.
