Rating: Summary: Revenge may be sweet, but Love is Better Review: Emily Stapely is enjoying her engagement party, wandering around in the estate's conservatory, taking a few minutes to herself, when Lucas Hunt steps out of the foliage. Emily is surprised, Lucas is rude. They have known each other since they were children, but for some reason he harbors a terrible grudge against the Stapely family and Emily is afraid he has come here to wreck her party and her engagement. Then they hear Emily's fiancé and sister talking. They are obviously in love with each other, obviously been having an affair. He wants to break the engagement with Emily, her sister doesn't want to hurt Emily. And now Emily knows she cannot marry him. Then Luke offers her a way out, by kissing her in front of her father, who despises Luke. He has rightly figured that she would rather be scorned than pitied. But how far would Luke go to get his revenge against her family and what have they done to earn his undying hatred? Emily doesn't know, but she better find out before she loses her heart. This romance had me up most of the night. It's always nice when an author can keep you guessing about something, keep you turning the pages, keep you wondering. That's what separates the men from the boys as far as writers go, oh, excuse me, I meant to say, the women from the girls. A Harlequin Dreamers Review by Shino Tanaka
