Rating: Summary: Now THIS is a good book... Review: Have you ever been bored by all the fantasy romances? Well, m'dears, these shapeshifters aren't wolves this time, they're seals, and positively yummy. This book was rather interesting, in fact, for besides the original plot, this is a contemporary romance that is written well. Kudos to Ms. Joy for writing an excellent book. I'd recommend this book if you're looking for an original and well-written romance. Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: A Sensuous Mystery Review: This is one of Carolee Joy's best romances. She overcomes the formidible task of warming the icy gales and seas of Scotland with a romantic tryst. And what a tryst it is! Kelsey, the marine biologist, is more than intrigued by the mysterious, remote stranger she meets on the rocky coast. But Cade is a dangerous adversary. Or is he? Dreams may be more substantive than Kelsey's vivid memories, and friends may be other than those she trusts. In Joy's hands it all becomes a fast-paced paranormal romance I'll happily revisit.

Rating: Summary: This is the book for a wonderful summer read! Review: This story captured me from the cover to the first page. When I finally had to put the book down because I'd read the last page, I didn't want to leave those beautiful legendary people. The story suspended my disbelief enough that I know I'll be looking for silver seals the rest of my life with just a glimmer of hope that the romantic story I just read could be true. This book is a "must read" for anyone with a romantic bone in their body.

Rating: Summary: A beatilpaanormal story with lots of romance Review: Twenty-five years ago, Kelsey Mackenzie's mother died in the North Sea off the island of Orkney. Her father, internationally respected marine biologist never set foot again on the island where he lost his beloved. Dr. Bracken leads a research team on the island looking into a strange disease that is eradicating the seal population. When a member of his team and a colleague of Kelsey dies in an accident, he invites the latter to join the scientific investigation. Kelsey accepts the offer over the objection of her father because she now has an opportunity to learn what happened to her mother. The other two members of the research team, Dr. Erik Norland and native Dr. Cade Douglas have different reasons for not wanting Kelsey on the team. Both know Bracken's hidden agenda of discovering the hiding place of the legendary Selkies. Cade and his grandfather apparently have reasons to hate Kelsey's father, but that does not stop love from blooming between him and her. However, there are even greater reasons and much danger to keep a relationship between Cade and Kelsey from happening. BY AN ELDRITCH SEA is a captivating tale that centers on relationships and Selkies, a mix that works because author Carolee Joy never loses sight of her prime plot. The key cast members contain consistent personal motives that help the reader understand the relationships and ultimately the theme while the suspense grows until the ending. Paranormal romantic suspense readers will obtain much joy from this well written novel. Harriet Klausner
