Summary: MY GIRL !
Review: A Bittersweet Love was a very good book. I loved Teddy. She was married to Adrian (a selfish man who she thought loved her). When Teddy gets pregnant and tells Adrian, his response is abort it. (I was thinking, this guy is crazy). His own mother didn't understand what happened to him. She raised all of her children to have compassion. Teddy wouldn't have the abortion and Adrian divorced her. That was the best thing that ever could have happened to her. Teddy is a photojournalist and is assigned to interview the handsome Joachim West. He is a fiction writer and is in Northern Ireland writing his next book. Teddy and Joachim meet in unexpected circumstances in Northern Ireland and fell in love. I loved Joachim. He was so understanding, but had nightmares about the death of his wife Suzanne. This was an excellent story, if you haven't picked up this book, please do so.

Summary: A Sweet & Lovely Book...
Review: As a huge fan of Janice Sims, I can honestly say there is nothing's bitter about this book. She is not your typical author that writes about the same thing over & over again. I have always admired the way Ms. Sims places black characters in exotic, far away locations and give us the readers, something different to read. You can tell by reading any one of her many books, that Ms. Sims is always thinking of ways to be creative and inspiring. Beautiful work Ms. Sims...

Summary: ok
Review: Bittersweet is the story of Teddy who goes to Ireland to do a story of the very popular author Joachim West who's been out of the public eye for awhile. People end up thinking they are husband and wife because Teddy has to stay at his house and he don't want to ruin her image. The two end up falling for each other fast. Pretty good.

Summary: This is the kind of story you wait for.
Review: I am still kicking myself for waiting so long to read this one, but life got in the way. When I did have the time, I read it in one sitting and all I could do was smile for page after page. Then, I was so sorry that I'd reached the end that I read it a second time a week later. I NEVER REREAD A BOOK THAT SOON, but this one took me there. Charm and wit are Ms. Sims' trademarks and they are certainly on ample display in this story. I've always heard that Ireland was a chilly place, but Ms. Sims did a wonderful job of heating it up. To paraphrase that Irish Spring commercial, "Joachim is made for a woman, and I love him too".

Summary: WONDERFUL
Review: I eagerly awaited getting the book in my hands. And found nothing but joy from the moment I started reading.

A warm sensitive fine black man in Ireland. A determined beautiful single mom trying to do the right thing. With the bone, the muscle, the gristle and heart of the story all present, the characters were well drawn and made me care.

It is no secret that Janice Sims always gives you her best, and this time around she gives you all that and more. The situations were real, the dialect perfect, the settings wonderful and storyline, heartfelt.

Soft and flowing, A Bittersweet Love was a wonderful read.

Summary: Teddy and Joachim, A Love Destined To Happen!
Review: I have read all of the books ever written by Janice Sims. Each novel has its own unique storyline like this one about Ballycastle, Ireland. At first when I began reading this story, it was a slow read but I soon became aware as to why. The author has to allow the reader to visualize the country of Ireland and its cultural unique ways. So for me it was like taking a history class about Ireland. I enjoyed the characters who made this such an enjoyable book, Joachim, his friend Conal, housekeeper Kathleen, Teddy (Thedora), Teddy's father, son Alex and of course even the ex-husband Adrian. Together they weave an excellent story about love lost to death, love not appreciated, sacrifices one makes for the love of a son and the spark of two people both needing love from one another. Ms Sims, captures all of this in Teddy and Joachim's love story. As you take your time reading this story, you will feel the spirit of Ireland, San Francisco and Carmel-By-The Sea along with Joachim finally letting go of his love lost to Teddy's finally finding someone to love her as she deserves. Thanks Janice, for once again giving us your creative insight for a story that makes its beginning in the heart of Ballycastle, Ireland. **Some of my other favorite Janice Sims novels were: For Keeps, Out of the Blue, Affair of the Heart and All The Right Reasons**
