Rating: Summary: Isn't it amazing? Review: All the other reviewers loved this book. I hated it. I've very much enjoyed other books by this author, but this offering leaves me cold. The interesting setting held my attention for awhile, but then it faded away. The main characters are thoroughly mismatched. The hero's sudden decision to marry the heroine is completely unmotivated, unexpected and unbelievable. The minor characters were far more interesting and believable than the hero and the heroine, but they were off-stage so much, it didn't matter. If you liked Margaret Porter Evans' other books, you might want to take a look at this one. Other people obviously liked it a lot, but I did not. Isn't it amazing how tastes differ?
Rating: Summary: Highly recommended! Review: As usual, Margaret Evans Porter delivers ... this time, a heartwarming love story about a handsome rake and the Manxwoman who loves him. Ellin is one of the warmest, most sympathetic heroines I've met in a long time, and Kerron is just magnificent! If you love original settings, lovable characters, and intelligent writing, THE SEDUCER won't disappoint -- I think it's Margaret Evans Porter's best yet!

Rating: Summary: Entertaining and well written! Review: Offers many fascinating historic details and some atypical settings. These lovers are delightful! Minor characters are interesting but not intrusive. Well worth reading.
Rating: Summary: A new discovery for me Review: The unusual setting on the Isle of Man is what first drew me to this book, but what kept me reading was the rich characters and wonderful romance. The conflict between the characters is not only believable but compelling. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Rating: Summary: A new discovery for me Review: This is my first novel by this author and it makes me eager to read more by her. I don't usually take chances on unfamiliar writers, but this time I'm glad I did. Ms. Evans Porter's writing strikes an emotional chord and her characters climb into your head and stay there long after the last page. Kerron Cashin and Ellin Fayle are good people but not goody-goody (you know what I mean if you've read books with "perfect" protagonists, so idealized that they don't ring true). In trying to make the best of a bad situation, they reveal their faults. They even make mistakes, like humans always do. The discovery she makes about her backgroud changes everything for the worst. Or so it seems! But it brings out the best in them. My one quibble is that the title doesn't seem to fit the story all that well. Beng a marriage of convenience plot, there's definitely some steamy sex, plus this hero has a liking for erotic literature which he puts to good use. But bodie-ripping romance it isn't.
