Summary: Monday's Child
Review: I thought that Monday's Child was okay. It probably would have been easier to read if I had, had a dictionary near by me when I had read it. In most books I read I just kinda guessed what the meanings were of big words. They're weren't that many big words in past novels I had read, but in Monday's Child, it got really confusing. Don't get me wrong, it was a good book, a great plot, but I think I'm going to save the book Monday's Child, and reread it when I'm closer to a grown up. Maybe I'll understand the book easier when I'm older.

Summary: An excellent romance!
Review: I thought this was definitely an excellent book by Linda Chaikin. She balances a mystery with a good romance. I only gave it four stars though, because I prefer her historical fiction. She does a good job though, of transitioning from historical fiction to modern, which sometimes can be difficult to do. If you liked Monday's Child, try Arabian Winds or Valiant Hearts by her.

Summary: Wow!
Review: Monday's Child fascinated me. Only having read a few of Linda Chaikin's books, I wasn't sure how this book would be. I was in for a pleasant surprise. While somewhat confusing at first, the plot was woven with amazing skill. All of the loose ends were tied in a secure knot at the end. I can only hope that the rest of this series will be as captivating!

Summary: Good, but with a few mistakes
Review: The book about Krista von Buren is a good one, don't get me wrong. She's a model in post World War II Switzerland. She is engaged to the nephew of the owner of a daimond mine, who's diamonds she models. She is beautiful, kind, and loves God. This character is a little too perfect for real belief. But it actaully works.

Her perfect life is flipped inside out when a wealthy actress from the United States comes to have a jewlery showing, bringing her good looking Texas lawyer, Jorden. She soon finds out they are more than what they seem. The " actress" is really a Jewish girl try ing to get her grandfathers account out of the bank, not for the money but so his hard earnings will not benifit those who killed him. She is also looking for the answer of how Krista is wearing a ring that was in her family during the war. Krista has gotten the ring from her mother but it is a mystery how her mother got it.

There is also a book of photo's taken by a relative of Krista, who everyone seems to want. Krista doesn't know why but knows somewhere in that book is all the answers. Was her family helping Hitler?

She finds it difficult to trust anyone now, definitly not her fiance. But the only problem was how quickly she turns her trust over to Jorden, who really is a member of the Israeli secret police. He was rude and awful to Krista at the beginning, he didn't trust her at all, but because he is handsome she believes whatever he tells her. Lucky for her, he is good.

I've given away too much already. It really is a good book, exciting and romantic, almost a little to so. I recommend it.
