Rating: Summary: Sweet poignant Americana at its best.... Review: The Way Home is the story Eliza Beaudry, the daughter of poor sharecroppers. ...I really loved this book. Eliza is believable as a cheery, but ignorant girl with dreams of being loved and respected as a lady. Aaron, was really a different character for this genre. He is shy, quiet, and has trouble around women. ... I thought this was great. Aaron's character was a breath of fresh air in a genre dominated by overbearing dukes and debauched rakes. My only disappointment in this book, was the continued presence of Cole.. The older brother was a ... and constantly overshadowed Aaron. ...Overall, I loved this book for its sheer 'differentness' in the form of the hero, Aaron. This book is a must for readers of Jill Marie Landis and fans of Americana romance novels.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This book kept me up all night. I loved Eliza and Aaron's story. I did wish I could find out more what happened to Cole. Did he find love? Is there another story about him in the works? If you love a tear jerker love story, this is definetly the book for you.
Rating: Summary: I was shaking! Review: This is clearly one of the top historical romance novels I have ever read. It had a sadness than you'll rarely find in romance novels, but it's not depressing. It works. Megan Chance has written this book with such tenderness and such a skill for making you care about the characters. Eliza is more naive and simple than most women of romance novels, but she never comes across as stupid. And Aaron's character is one of the most touching and original men in romance novel history. Bring out the Kleenex because you'll cry buckets in this very very touching romance novel.
Rating: Summary: A DIFFERENT, COMPELLING STORY Review: This is my second book by Ms. Chance - the first being FALL FROM GRACE. Even though you may not love the characters until the end of the book, or even know where the plot is headed, her stories are compelling, interesting and just different. Different in a good way. They draw you into the book even though sometimes the story line makes you uncomfortable. Her characters aren't perfect - either in looks or character - but they are human with all the flaws and problems inherent in our nature. Good read.
Rating: Summary: Great Read! Review: This is one of my favorite all time romance novels. The plotline is different, the characters interesting and the story absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended. I've read other Megan Chance books and "The Way Home" is by far the best.
