Rating: Summary: Sally Laturi of Ivy Quill Reviews Review: "The romantic tension between Sarah and Stephen is breathtaking, and the sensual tension sizzles. The romance alone would be enough reason to read this book. In addition, though, Ms. Lindsey has included the suspense of an unsolved murder. With dark, twisted villains and a detailed portrayal of the seamier side of London at that time, this book also delivers a message about the society in which the characters live. Through this attention to detail, the book comes to life, and simply wouldn't be put down. Steamy...sensual...and full of love and hope. Prisoner of Passion takes the reader on a trip to remember!"

Rating: Summary: Romance Reader from the USA Review: "This one is simply breathtaking, scintilating and stimulating. The editorial reviews, I found, summed this novel up perfectly. If you enjoy the eroticism of Anais Nin's "Delta of Venus", you'll appreciate Ms. Lindsey's sexually charged story."
Rating: Summary: RomBkLvr from Denver, CO USA Review: Even though this book is a little more on the darker side than I normally like, I found that it had my emotions running the gamut. From being appalled (at Sarah's circumstances), to sighing at the mushy parts, to bawling like a baby at Stephen's plan at the end. In my opinion, that is what a good book is suppose to do. Of course, the steamy parts didn't hurt either. *G* The book is now on its way to a friend.

Rating: Summary: A reader of erotic romance Review: Hot, hot, hot! I so love the dark sensuality, great love scenes and surprise ending! Not for just any reader, since this one's going for the heartstrings with deeply dark facets and inventive sex. No timid romance here. Stay away if you can't handle the heat. Rating: Summary: Movie/Fiction Critic from US Review: I picked this novel up because a story that inspires love and hate is a story long remembered. I've been doing this long enough the others usually fade from memory. Case in point, I did my research on this one and found a gamut of public responses. 3x a bestseller, a favorite pick by booksellers, enjoyed by reviewers, praised by editors and a range of peers. Take your pick. My opinion, a definite keeper. Better, if you're lucky enough to get ahold of a signed copy, which I found this author does. Bottom line, arousing. Inspires lust. A great fiction piece with grit. Adult content charged with sex; not for emotional shrews. Personally, I'd not kick this author out of 'my' bed. Crash & burn tested. SAM
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: I read one other book by Desiree Lindsey and enjoyed it. This book was darker than I like. I am not into reading sexual abuse, gang rape and painful sex scenes. I found it very distasteful and found myself skipping pages just to end the book. When there was a love scene you couldn't help but wonder what horrible situation was going to happen next. Therefore taking away from the special bond they were making. Too bad there was so much darkness and despair, this could of been a wonderful love story.
