Rating: Summary: Romantic Times Review Review: Favorite author Sharon Sala leads off A Year of Loving Dangerously, an exciting new Intimate Moments miniseries, with MISSION: IRRESISTIBLE (4.5). Desperate to find out who is framing him for treason and not knowing who he can trust, the head of a supersecret spy agency sends a beautiful undercover agent to convince a retired spy to come back on active status and inadvertently triggers a fiendish counterstroke from the unknown villain. Ms. Sala is right on the money, combining breathless suspense, fiery passion and tender emotion to create an irresistible reading experience.
Rating: Summary: Great characters... Review: I found the characters of Alicia and East compelling and easy to relate to. But I did find that I was skimming part of the way through the book. I'm a big spy/action-adventure/mystery fan but the sections where they showed East's adopted son, although interesting, didn't really seem to be necessary to the plot. If the writer had kept the main focus on the two leads and didn't vary, then I think we would have had a wonderful book. That aside, I loved the action. I loved East. And even though Alicia was a little too naieve to be an actual agent, I suspended my disbelief long enough to enjoy this wonderful book. Now I'm going to wonder: 1. Who are the two people who really know who the elusive Jonah is? And. 2. Will Jonah ever have his own book and find his own life after working with SPEAR?
Rating: Summary: an enjoyable read Review: I have always enjoyed Sharon Sala/Dinah McCalls's books and this was no exception. Here we have the first installment (of twelve) for a new series dealing with SPEAR, a secret agency. Alicia Corbin has been recruited by Jonah, the enigmatic SPEAR chief, to bring back Easton Kirby, who now runs a resort where weary SPEAR agents go get some R&R. Jonah is being framed, and he believes it's someone inside SPEAR, so his only choice is to go to former agent East, who wants nothing to do with the assignment. Alicia is a brilliant agent, a genius whose IQ is off the scale, but she's not comfortable flirting or charming a man into doing anything, so she is puzzled at her assignment. How can she convince this cold, distant man to help Jonah when he barely speaks to her? In truth, East and Alicia are mutually attracted from the beginning, although he is angry when Alicia's true mission is revealed, but soon there is something even more important that needs their skills and attention. East's son Jeff has been kidnapped, and the stakes have become even higher. I really enjoyed this book, Sharon has a way with creating true emotional connections between her characters and this was no exception - I look forward to other SPEAR books, especially the last one, which will also be written by Sharon.

Rating: Summary: Mission: Irresistible Review: I thought this book was great. When a series of books start I like to wait and collect all the books at the begining before I start to read. This way I will not miss any of the stories. The beginning of the series of "A Year of Loving dangerously" brought out the adventure of the series and that you can wait to get the next book and the next to see what happens to Johah. I like the way that Sharon Sala brought out the love of East and Alicia before the end of the book. It was a little slow at first but it got better and better towards the middle when Jeff was kiddnaped. The love that was shared between an adopted father and son proved that people do care. I loved it at the end of the story that Alicia was pregnant. I can't wait to find out through the stories what she might have a boy or a girl. Sharon Sala started the series and she is writting the last book and I can't wait to see what the last book of this series will intell and how Sharon will bring a end to the whole thing.

Rating: Summary: an enjoyable read Review: Intimate Moments continuity series A Year of Loving Dangerously is off to an interesting start with Mission Irresistible. Genius secret agent Alicia Corbin attempts to convince ex-agent East Kirby to help discover the identity of the traitor determined to bring down her boss. East refuses until his son is kidnapped, drawing him into the web of intrigue. The only thing that marred my enjoyment of this book was its slow start. The kidnapping doesn't occur until near the middle of the book, when the pace begins to pick up. Even then, the action isn't particularly compelling. Sharon Sala's strength is her characters and depth of emotion. On those two counts, Mission Irresitible delivers.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT START TO 12 STORIES! Review: Now let us see. Slow beginnig? necessary to set a plot for a 12 book series. Let the stories begin. Alicia Corbin is brillant, untutored in the ways of a man, woman relationship although knowledgable. Then we meet Jonah, the head of SPEAR - someone is trying to discredit him and take him down [probably destroying SPEAR with him]. Jonah feels that he can trust Easton Kirby because he has been out of the loop for about ten years and Alicia's job was to intice East into helping Jonah short of using sex. During those ten years East had adopted a fourteen year old tough kid, Jeff and made him his son. Of course events esculate when Jeff is kidnapped [which turns out to be a costly mistake by Jonah's nemisis] as now East is on the prowl. He manipulates Jonah into supplying him with the necessary means to rescue Jeff. With the help of Alicia's brilliant deductions. [The only problem I felt was that there was not enough paranoia and suspicion on the part of East and Alicia for spy agents.] In the rescue of Jeff [grin - loved that part] they did learn the operative name - SIMON - the man apparently after Jonah. Ah yes, Jeff was taken to the Militia compound of the Brotherhood of Blood - run by Caleb Carpenter. [read to find out where]. For those of you who have not followed the collecting of this series - I will lead you to the next book and so on. Look of #2 -- UNDERCOVER BRIDE by Kylie Brant - the story of Caleb Carpenter and another agent of SPEAR. So far so good -- Highly Recommended --M
