Rating: Summary: Bomb!! Review: Perfect Match is a book that is ok if you have nothing else to read or are in the mood for something light. Lauren's employer has died and she is stuck in New Orleans without money or a means to make it. She meets Oliver and likes him ok and decides he is the husband she needs, but his hippie-like brother Alistair is the one she connects with. However, Alistair has always been in the habit of taking in strays like Lauren and wants to end the trend with Barbara, a stable, intelligent woman working for Oliver. Will these couples realize who is really their perfect match and get together with that person? Well, duh, this is a romance novel. The plot was ok, though it was a bit frustrating to read about 4 people going after someone who was so completely wrong for them the majority of the book. Nobody can really be that senseless and it made me lose a little respect for the characters. I liked Alistair because he was sort of mysterious and spiritual while still being a normal, hard working hero. Not exactly a typical romance hero. He caught my interest. Barbara and Oliver were also a bit endearing the way they each come out of their starched corporate shells and let loose a little. Lauren I DID NOT LIKE. She seemed flighty, naïve, and too dependant on others. Her style of living was entirely too bohemian for this reader to identify with. She was extremely willing to take and take and take from our poor generous hero without giving anything in return. I know it was the author's intention to simply make her seem like the absentminded artsy type, but Lauren came off as lazy and simple-minded to me. In other words, don't buy this book. It is fine to rent from the library or if it is lent to you, but is really not worth they money. However, if you want to read a really good contemporary romance I suggest Be My Baby by Susan Anderson or Lady Be Good by Susan Elizabeth Philips. Happy Reaing!

Rating: Summary: blechhhh! Review: Sorry this one is NOT a good one. Hailey North is purely a hit or miss author. The last two books I've read of hers have been awful though. I don't think I'll waste any more money on her books. There was another reviewer who expressed my sentiments exactly about the "hero", Alistair. Who wants a seventies hippie type hero??? Birkenstocks??? Please! - Yuck! Gray hair? No...sorry...uh uh...not doing anything for me. And Lauren, the "heroine", seemed really, really immature. Not to mention airheaded, fickle, frigid, naive, and God knows what all else (but none of it very good). Did I mention immature? So, basically, heroine has nothing going for her but looks, and hero has nothing going for him but money...where does this leave us? Going to bed early, which is NOT a sign of a good book. Spend your money on another author.
Rating: Summary: Perfect Book for the Beach Review: This book is an easy, entertaining summer read. Pick it up if you're looking for an engrossing way to spend a few hours at the beach or pool. It will capture your attention and take you to New Orleans -- and amuse you with a set of endearing characters.

Rating: Summary: Bomb!! Review: This book was truly awful. I bought it because the story sounded good, but what should have been included was that Alistair had extra powers and had gray hair and wore sandals....then I would have put this baby right back on the shelf. Sorry, but I like to picture the main-men in books good looking, not a seventies hippie, who owned a magic shop and could cast spells on people. The georgous brother seemed a bit challenged as well. This book lacked total content. The red head, I even forget her name already, could Hailey North have stressed how much of a beautiful body she had anymore? I got to page 70 and said...good bye! Don't waste your time with this one! I will not buy another H.N. book because this totally soured my taste for her writing.
Rating: Summary: Great summer reading Review: This was an engaging story, with engaging characters, in an engaging setting. A great summer read, but readers will enjoy it any time of the year. If you've read any of Hailey North's other books, this is her best yet.
