Summary: You gotta love to those tortured heroes!!!
Review: Ms. Brashear's hero in A FAMILY SECRET is a wonderful blend of angst and sexy emotions as he struggles to live with the hand his dead father has dealt him. Of course it doesn't help the object of his desire is the one person who is an instrument of his father's treachery. Ms Brashear's unique talent at creating troubled characters is showcased when Boone and Maddie struggle to learn that each is the other half of their whole. Readers should put this on their "to buy" list as soon as possible to ensure getting a copy. Jean Brashear will soon be an automatic buy for the most discriminating readers, but will there be enough copies for all who want one? .

Summary: Sassy and Tender Meets Brooding and Sexy
Review: This is the book that Jean Brashear is meant to write. She has created highly complex characters in a setting of home and mystery. Add a healthy coating of laughter and sexual tension -- fanning myself, "Whew"!!

Can't wait for Mitch's story.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A deeply satisfying love story!
Review: With her second novel, A FAMILY SECRET, talented author Jean Brashear demonstrates she doesn't need murder and mayhem to keep readers anxiously turning pages well into the night. Passion, intensity, and sacrifice are the key ingredients in this good old fashioned story about what really matters -- love and family, roots, a place to call home. Boone and Maddie's poignant journey is guaranteed to stay with readers for a long time to come. Can't wait for Mitch's story in January 2000, and book three later that year. Thanks for the great read, Jean!
