Summary: Beware Reviewer Inaccuracy
Review: Having read & enjoyed this book fully, I feel that given the accusations in a previous review, it should be pointed out that the Not Quite Paradise was copywrited in 1995, two and a half years before the series in question came out. I suggest the reviewer check her facts before saying that someone might be gullible enough to believe.

Summary: Worth A Second Read
Review: I am so glad I found this book again. Loved it the first time around and am starting it again. It reminded me of one of my favorite movies, "Starman", with Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen. That came out in 1984 I think. I look forward to reading more of Jan's books.

Review: I have to admit I only recently discovered this author and because of that, this book was very difficult to find. I searched everywhere for it and was so excited to finally get my hands on. Ms. Zimlich manages to create wonderful believable characters from other worlds and weave an exciting tale that had me sitting up most of the night. I was distressed when I read the review giving what could be taken as false information regarding this book. For Your information, The TV series, The Visitors came about a good two years AFTER the copyright on this book. I just wanted to set the record straight as I had to do a tremendous amount of researching to find this book and get it into my hands. Many thanks to the author for her wonderful, vivid imagination!

Review: I loved this story and if Virgie there who I don't want to read more about, would have checked hers, she would have known that Not Quite Paradise is not a spin-off of The Visitor television series. The copywrite on this novel is 1995. The television series aired in 97. I love Jan Z's work, and personally loved this novel, so I guess it is all a matter of taste, and getting your facts right before you take it upon your holier than thou self to spout the words, `spin off'. Keep up the good work, Jan. I love your books.

Review: Upon discovering the beautiful, water-rich, jewel-blue planet, telepathic Savanian Commander Aayshen Rahs decides to personally pilot the reconnaissance shuttle to Earth. In a plot identical to the TV series "The Visitor," the 'aliens' get shot out of the sky & find unexpected refuge in the greenhouse of divorcee Laura Malek, her son & grandpa--until the next shuttle comes to rescue them. Meanwhile, the U.S. Military's top secret EBE (Extraterrestrial Bio Entity) Team relentlessly pursues the aliens. SOUNDS VERY FAMILIAR, RIGHT! Overall, the storyline is not hopeless--certainly not original, but not that bad. Basically, it's a poignant story about human nature & values in the face of the unknown. My main complaint is that the book is supposed to be a "futuristic romance," but it's definitely missing the "future" part! Sure, there are space aliens like Drallondryn--a sensitive furry technician who looks like he just stepped out of the 'Cats' broadway show. Yeah, there's (supposedly) a Savanian mothership hovering over the Earth, but we never get to see/hear what's going on up there. All the action takes place ONLY ON THE SURFACE OF PRESENT-DAY EARTH! So it should've been classified instead as a contemporary with an 'alien encounter'.
