Rating: Summary: Not What I Expected Review: A long, slow start. I like a great plot but I didn't find myself caring about the characters and that's a must for me.
Rating: Summary: Upcoming books! Review: I appreciate all the positive responses I've gotten on SHADOW OF THE HAWK. If you enjoyed that story, look for these books coming next year: ALWAYS FAITHFUL--April 2000 Jonathan Ramsey's story ONE GOOD MAN--Dec. 2000 My debut novel from Harlequin Intrigue
Rating: Summary: Don't be fooled by the cover Review: If I'd seen this book in the bookstore, I probably wouldn't have looked at it based on the cover. But don't be fooled. It's a great story, with stong characters. The chemistry between Hawk and Sarah is great, the descriptions of the tropical setting realistic and easy to visualise. I own it and I'll read it again.
Rating: Summary: A Great Romantic Adventure! Review: Ms. Miller does it again! Loaded with strong, poignant characters, Shadow Of The Hawk delivers not only romance at its best, but great adventure. A gripping read.
Rating: Summary: The book my readers have been asking for . . . Review: SHADOW OF THE HAWK was a pleasure to write. Hawk Echohawk was a supporting character in my novel, IMMORTAL HEART, and I've received a lot of reader comments asking for Hawk's story. Let's face it, he's just a hunk and a half. The heroine, Sarah McCormick, has a lot of me in her. I, too, am a teacher, and know the headaches and rewards of that profession. Sarah is also shy. Shyness is a painful, often misunderstood personality trait that many folks have to live with. In many ways, shyness is why I got into writing. I used to keep my emotions so internalized that I'd make myself physically ill. In my adolescence I was encouraged to write down my thoughts and emotions, since I was unable to verbalize them. That therapy turned into a love for writing and sparked my imagination to know no limits. I'm a risk-taker now. I still have those shy feelings, but I now have strategies for dealing with them. In HAWK, Sarah has to learn those strategies, too. She has to trust in herself like never before when she takes five students on a field trip to the lush tropical island of Tenebrosa. Ex-Marine Hawk invites himself along as a chaperone, knowing Tenebrosa harbors an evil that only one with his shaman powers can understand. While he goes to save lives, soon he learns that his heart is on the line with this brave, beautiful schoolmarm. I hope you enjoy Hawk and Sarah's story as much as I enjoyed writing it!
