Rating: Summary: Just as I thought! Review: After reading Warrior Bride, I knew the reading public had an author we could depend for a good and readable story. Tamara Leigh has surpassed herself with BLACKHEART. An author of this caliber cannot remain dormant for long. Here is her long awaited new novel! A well-woven tapestry of hatred, intrigue, revenge, deceit, and most importantly, romance. Each of Tamara Leigh's books are richer and more intriguing than the last. Without giving away the plot, I found myself drawn into the book,(due to her masterful descriptive writing). More so than any of her previous works, I would recommend BLACKHEART to any reader wishing to curl up with a really good book with interesting characters.
Rating: Summary: dragon head, sneak tail, good bad guy, bad good girl Review: As a man, I know that my opinion on romance novels doesn't bear to much weight to the modern public. And though my preference in reading does not normally lean towards this genre (sci-fi and fantasy always work well for me, Dan Simmons and Anne McCaffrey seem to always know how to move me, along with those well known authors such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Clive Barker), I have read all of Tamara Leigh's books so far. If I hadn't enjoyed her previous works, such as Misbegotten, well...I wouldn't have read "Blackheart." I purchased Blackheart with the hope in mind that the story would engage me, as all of Tamara Leigh's prevous stories have. I was definitely not disappointed. The main thing I cannot stand about any book or story is predictability. I have read so many books recently that, within which, not only could you predict what was coming, but also had characters that were so shallow, that they gave my garbage disposal more depth than my fish tank. As usual, Leigh's new book, Blackheart, is anything but boring and predictable. Blackheart completely reaches beyond Tamara Leigh's previous works, and takes the reader to unexpected levels. Not only is the plot unique, but the characters are also so well developed, that you can't help believing in them. Their realistic conflicts, both mental and physical, in conjunction with a world in our past created so realistically, lend play to senses inside that only a "good read" can offer. From the description of scenery and scene (battle scenes especially), to the depths of an emotion, Leigh pulls you into a world that, willing or not, you become a part of. Keeping you guessing at every page (all the while you think you know what is coming), Blackheart exceeded any expectation I may have had. Every time I tried to be critical (and you have NO idea how I like to be critical), Leigh threw something unexpected at me. As each page turned, I was drawn more deeply into a world that became, unbeknownst to my wife, more real than my own reality. I would cut conversations short to simply return to the world that Leigh created for me...and the story I longed to be part of. And though I might not weigh as much as the main character, or look as good as she describes him, Leigh's writing not only makes me want to be a better man...but more importantly, really upsets me in regards to all the crappy books I've read over the last year. I will always be a "fantasy" freak when it comes to the genre of my choice. I will never be a "romance novel" freak...like it or not (the romance in my life is well beyond that depicted in any book I have read to date). But I am, wholeheartedly, no questions asked, a definite...Tamara Leigh freak. There is no question to her talent, no question to her abilities. Each book seems to take on a new depth, show a new perspective and create so much imagery in the un-imaginable (to me) worlds she creates...you can't help but wait in anticipation for her next book. If you enjoy reading to the point where you can't put a book down, when you'd actually call in sick to work just to stay home and read, engage yourself in the world of Blackheart...you won't be disappointed.

Rating: Summary: A Truly Great Book. Review: Blackheart by Tamara Leigh goes beyond a great read. It belongs in the classics. Not only does it ring of historical authenticity, but also it is deeply moving. This is not a book to be taken lightly.

Rating: Summary: A Real Keeper Review: Blackheart is a beautifully written, engaging story that won't let you go until the very last page. The characters in this book are wonderfully believable - even the villain. No one-dimensional bad guy here. Bernart is someone you can pity and still firmly cross your fingers that the hero and heroine will prevail. Juliana is determined to fight for Gabriel and her child without betraying anyone, but Gabriel is definitely man enough and hero enough to fight for. Ms. Leigh either avoids the typical plot devices completely, or finds some new way to use them, and it makes her book that much more enjoyable and satisfying.

Rating: Summary: Welcome back Tamara Leigh Review: First and foremost, welcome back to the world of medieval romance Tamara Leigh. I have read every book that Tamara has published and never has she disappointed me. this holds true with her newest release, Blackheart. I loved her main characters and the secondary characters were well rounded leaving the opportunity open for sequels. I thought part of the story quite sad, but probably very true to the times. Though Gabriel seemed a harsh, uncaring man in some eyes, I think that he had always loved Juliana. she deep down abviously cared for him until she was fed the lies that would change all the lives involved. I really like Tamara's style of writing and I am looking forward to other books in the near future. I certainly hope that they include sequels to this book.

Rating: Summary: It'll keep up up! Review: Forget the coffee. "Blackheart" will keep you up all night without any help. If you've read Tamara Leigh's 'bride' series, or Unforgotten and Misbegotten, you've got the idea. "Blackheart" reaches far beyond the 'misunderstanding' which plagues so many stories, and delivers a tale that will make you sigh, cry, and rejoice. Gabriel De Vere is not your typical tortured hero, though he's definitely tortured by his father's rejection of him as heir and his best friend's rashness which leads to a malignant rift. Julianan is strong and determined, yet her loyalty to her sister makes her vulnerable to her importent husband's demands for an heir. Juliana is forced into the bed of her husband's enemy. Wat happens when Gabriel dicovers who she is and what she has stolen from him will make your toes curl! The only problem I had with the book, is how long it will take for Tamara Leigh to put out her next one!
