Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Strongest of story elements and motivation
Review: Rory begins in violence and ends in enduring love. The heroine Annaclaire is a delight with her comebacks to Rory's flirtatious charm as he recovers from his wounds. Deep emotions and depth of character abound in this story.

Ruth Langan wove an unconsummated first love scene filled with high emotions and sensual tension. Rory and Annaclaire's love begins in that moment, vivid and rich in equal parts passion and frustration.

One lives this story breath by breath when Annaclaire learns that her guest has been discovered, secreted away in her attic, which puts their very lives on the block.

This is a book ripe with intrigue and plot twists that set your heart pounding, love scenes that leave you panting and as breathless as the lovers themselves.

Ruth has penned a clever, beautiful heroine and a deeply romantic hero; both are truly unforgettable characters.

The end of this book nearly stopped my heart! Fortunately, I was saved by a beautifully rendered epilogue and romance of which we mortal romantics may only dream.

In all, this is an excellent achievement, a book that keeps suspense going until the very last pages. A superior novel that literally leaves you breathless, so involved you live inside the persona of Roy and Annaclaire every step of the way. I loved this book and will treasure it always.

Summary: Suspence and unexpected turns.
Review: This story kept me in suspence until the very end. The twists and turns are unexpected and add to the excitement of the story. I anxiously await the next two books in the O'neil Saga.
