Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An exceptional romance novel!
Review: I love Harlequin Presents, but for some reason I'd never read any Emma Darcy novels. Well, my loss apparently! I read this book in 6 hours flat, I really couldn't put it down.

The novel starts with Carver and Katie meeting at a masquerade ball and being drawn to each other. They have a past, but because they're masked, they don't realize they know each other already. They have an "episode" at the ball, but part with no plans on seeing each other again. A few days later, they run into each other and realize the attraction and feelings are still very strong. They begin seeing each other, but Carver tries to keep the relationship purely physical. Katie, however, has regrets about the past and would like to see their relationship turn into something meaningful and lasting. Carver has bitterness and anger and is hesitant to embark on anything that involves his feelings getting hurt again.

I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but the climax is very touching, it brought me to tears. If you like your romances spicy, with laughter, and a few tears, you will definitely like this one. Enjoy!
