Summary: A delightful tale of a reluctant duke and a pirate's niece.
Review: Adam Trent is an English duke loyal to the Americans in the War of 1812. When a battered young girl washes ashore on a beach near his home in Cornwall, he finds himself drawn to her. Who is she? Where did she come from? No one knows, not even Jewel herself, who is suffering from a case of amnesia. But as glimpses of the past return to her, she begins to fear that the truth will destroy the love beginning to grow between them.

It was impossible to put this book down. The characterization, the dialogue, the action, the sexual tension. . . all had me fascinated from beginning to end. I heartily recommend it to any devotee of historical romance, and you can bet I will look for more books by this very talented author.

Summary: A LOVE STORY THAT WILL TAKE YOU ON A FAST-PACE ADVENTURE.
Review: I have received many letter from readers telling me that they couldn't put THE DUKE'S LADY down. I can't tell you how much I appreciate every letter. It let's me know that I have accomplished what I set out to do, and that's take the reading into another time and away from the everyday world. My next book is titled THE WICKED LADY, which is due in May, 2000. I hope you come to love the characters as much as you have Adam and Jewel. Adam is a to die for hero.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I really wanted to like this book but couldn't. The characters are one dimensional, and the flavour of New Orleans and England are both lacking. LaFitte's character is ridiculous. The general vocabulary and tone of the book do not refelect the era in which it is set. The protagonists are a promising outline that never expands beyond that. I recommend the reader pass this one by.

Summary: IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT DOWN
Review: If you long for that old time romance, then this is the book you've been waiting for. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Summary: A definate miss!
Review: If you're a fan of constant historical inaccuracies, improbable, cardboard characters, and cliched writing, this is the book for you. Apart from the, of course, handsome, studly hero, (who, even though captain of his ship, is kind enough to give the helmsman plenty oftime off by taking the wheel himself) and the, naturally, incredibly beautiful, feisty heroine (who can outdo the average man at fencing and knife throwing and even cooks) even the sex comes from the "how to write a romance novel" book. The author is also bored enough by this book that she cannot keep track of the fact that the couple "waltz together as if they had been doing it all their lives" at a Christmas ball in the first half of the book but, towards the end of the book, at another ball "they had never actually danced before".

Summary: A MUST READ
Review: It was hard to put this book down from the minute I picked it up. If you long for that old romance that will sweep you away this is the book for you.

Can't wait for the next one.

Summary: Couldn't put it down
Review: It's Saturday pm, no work done, but I couldn't put THE DUKE'S LADY down. It is as good a book as I've read. I know I'll read it again. And can't wait for the next book.

Summary: A true romance
Review: Just finished reading THE DUKE'S LADY. I really enjoyed reading it. I couldn't put it down. I became friends with Jewel. I could even picture her beauty. I'll be looking for your books in the book stores, so keep writing.

Summary: THE DUKE'S LADY
Review: Ms. Jernigan plots an intricate tale of intrigue and patriotism, spiced with passion. Her characters are interesting, her plot moves rapidly, her love scens are steamy. SENSUAL. EVELYN FETNER, ROMANTIC TIMES
