Summary: The Best Book I've Ever Read!!
Review: Sophie's Heart is so touching. I cried as much as I laughed. It made me realize how much I take for granted, whether it be the possessions that I own or the poeple in my life who love me.

Summary: Another Winner by Lori Wick!
Review: Living in Wisconsin and being a big fan of Lori Wick's writing, Sophie's Heart won my Heart. As usual once I picked it up, there was no thought of putting it back down. I honestly stayed up until three in the morning finishing this story of Sophie's life. This young woman's courageous move to America and her tenacity in "making a life for herself" enthralled me. Then her exciting move to my home state to be a nanny for a recently widowed, handsome young man kept me reading. This book is a faith building love story that encourages you to stay true to your beliefs and to live each day to the fullest. The only let down is that there are no plans for a sequel

Summary: The Gold Standard for modern Christian Romance
Review: A recent Czech emigre, Sophie is battling language, thoughtless cultural stereotyping, loneliness, and financial hardship. A church friend helps her land a job as a housekeeper to Alec Riley. Alec has lost his wife in a car crash. He reacts by desperately turning himself into a workaholic and emotionally abandons his three kids (ages 16, 12, 10) to wander in their own pain-filled daze. Sophie arrives and wonderful life-changing mayhem ensues. Sophie's tenuous grasp of English helps fill this book with laugh-out-loud humor and all five main characters have fully developed story lines that entices the reader right into the family. You will live the story with them.

This is in my estimation, Lori Wick's greatest book so far. But her rate of maturity as a writer has been such that I doubt that will last. The large print hardcover is 642 pages of delightfully entertaining inspiration. I did not want it to end.

Summary: Not what I expected
Review: This was my first Lori Wick book. I found it to be very slow and boring. The charcter, Sophie, was just too good to be true. She did not seem real to me at all. I felt that there was no depth to any of the characters and I never really felt any attachment to any of them. I almost didn't finish the book, but I did. Long before the book ended, I already knew what the ending would be. There was absolutely no excitement. It was all very predictable. I also felt that the story was rushed. It went from one thing to another, without any time to develop the plot or characters. This was a very disappointing read for me. I really don't think that I will be buying any other Lori Wick titles. However, if you are looking for a book that has little character development and a predictable feel good storyline, then you will love this one. There is one positve thing that I will say. Sopie has a very strong faith in God that I did admire. The storyline, however, was lacking substance.

Summary: My first time...it won't be my last
Review: This was my first attempt at reading Christian romance novels. I've been reading secular romance books for over 11 years and I found that reading those and still wanting to keep my mind and body pure was fruitless. I haven't read a secular romance book in over 1 year, but find that I'm missing what I really longed for...a rewarding story.

Lori Wick has given me a choice, one that I will continue with for some time. This week in my search for more Christian romance novelists, I have official "cut my teeth" with Ms. Wick's books. Thank you for a lovely story, one that was touching and fulfilling. "Sophie's Heart" has started my collection. I look forward to more.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I loved this book and think everyone should read it. I am doing a book report on it for my Adv. Comm class and need to have a description of the main characters, in my opinion being Alec and Sophie. If anyone could give me a description of these two characters it would be much appreciated. My email is jennifer162004@hotmail.com

Thanks!,
Jennifer

Summary: Sweetly Innocent
Review: Although I bought this book several years ago, I only just now read it. I have to say that I'm sorry I hadn't read it sooner. It is a very sweet, innocent love story between a young women and a man and his family. Not only did it feed my yearning for a love story, but it really started me thinking about how I treat people and what my relationship with religion is. Although I have yet to go, this book has moved me to return to church after a lengthy absence and hopefully have a more open heart towards people and spirituality, just like Sophie's Heart. I totally recommend it, especially if you looking for a great pick me up love story.
