Summary: Another Amazing Example of Fine Christian Fiction!
Review: Lori Wick has done it again! In her novel "Sophie's Heart" she has expertly crafted a fine tale of a young Czechoslavakian who travels from her native country to live and work in America. She leaves her only living relative behind, along with her government position, and finds herself working as a housekeeper for Alec Riley. Alec has lost his wife and is drowning in grief while still trying to raise his 3 children, Rita, Craig, and Tory. I won't reveal any more because this book is so fascinating you'll want to read it for yourself. If you are fan of Lori Wick, Christian fiction, or just fiction in general, this is a must-read story of God's healing love.

Summary: PHENOMENAL!!
Review: I have to admit I began to read this book a bit cautiously. I had several friends tell me it wasn't Lori Wick's best work. I couldn't disagree more. This book was wonderfully written and showed that Lori Wick is capable of writing incredible contemprary fiction. I was pleased with the plot although predictable in a lot of places, it was still thrilling. Each of the characters were fully developed and the book ended so well that I don't feel that there would need to be a sequel.

Well done Lori Wick!

Summary: A Heartwarming Story
Review: Sophie's Heart defintely touched my heart - I grew close to Sophie and was saddened when I reached the end of the book - I felt as though she was a part of me and I didn't want it to end! It was a GREAT read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys Christian literature. I've read many of Lori's works and she is positively one of my favorite authors.

Summary: Sophie's Heart deserves a trophy
Review: I loved this book. It's a nice "read on the couch" book and is touching and sensitive. My three sisters and my mom all loved it, too. Lori Wick is a great author. I couldn't believe it when someone reviewing the book said it went on and on...sure, it had a lot of pages, but it's the type of book you WANT to keep reading, so I don't know what went into her\his head. Otherwise her review was pretty good. Sophie is a lovable person who has a tender heart. She was a translator, but obviously didn't get cocky over that because she wanted to be a housekeeper, which most people assume is for "dummies" Sophie wasn't that. She wouldn't have wanted housecleaning as a career. One thing I love about these books are the characters are so good....While people in life are lucky to get someone as good as in the romance novels, it's lovely reading about these wonderful people so vividly described so you feel like you know them. Like always after a good book, after I finished reading it, I just sat there and wanted to keep reading. I always want to get to the end, no matter what I'm reading, but once I'm there, it it's really good, I want it to go on and on and on....

Review: This is Lori's greatest book so far! I really liked all the characters. It really made me think about how it would be to come here. And about my love for Jesus. I couldn't believe I was done with the book,I enjoyed it so much.

Summary: Sophie's heart
Review: I loved this book, Lori Wick has always been my favorite author. This was such an inspiring book and made me realize how much I take stuff for granted. Sophie was so nice and generous it made me want to try harder to be more like Jesus.

Summary: Sophie's Heart
Review: Sophie's Heart was Lori Wick's best work! I have read it many times. The first time I finished it I started over immediately. I wanted more! I enjoyed the way she brought the characters to life. You really get to know their personalities. The relationships between Sophie and the children is wonderful. A truly heart warming book. I just wish that Lori would write more about these characters, I found them to be so alive that I want to read more about them.

Summary: Not the best book for Lori Wick....
Review: I was told this book was a very good book. I think maybe for women over 40 it would be, but for myself who's in their late 20's, it was quite boring. The first half of the book was all about Sophie cleaning the house and taking the kids shopping. If I read one more time about cleaning or shopping I was going to scream! Half way through the book however, it began to pick up. I really didnt like the character of Sophie, I found her to be dull, annoyingly stubborn not to mention sometimes stupid. Like when she received a letter from Mr. Riley's deceased wifes mother. The letter was over 3 pages of jobs to do around the house while the family was at the lake. Sophie knew Mr. Riley had no knowledge of the letter but decided to bust her back doing these jobs for him for example climbing a huge extension ladder by herself to clean the outside of the windows, or paint the part of the house. Who in their right mind would actually perform these jobs? It was ridiculous I couldnt help but laugh! I found the part of Mr. Riley falling in love with Sophie pretty unbelievable as well for me.

With everything said, this book in my opinion is not Lori's best book, but it certainly was not a horrible experience to read either. As I mentioned before this book would suit an older reader, and not someone like myself.

Summary: Sophie's Heart
Review: Set in a small town in Wisconsin during the late '80's and early '90's, Sophie's Heart, by Lori Wick, is a story of true love. After Vanessa Riley died in a fatal accident, Alec Riley was left to take care of his three children by himself. He did not realize he was bearly making it until Sophia Velikonja walked into their lives. An immigrant from Czechoslavakia, Sophie took a job as a housekeeper for the Riley's. Trying to show the love of Jesus through her actions, she gets much more love back than she could ever ask for. This was a wonderful book. Instead of showing love as a feeling that changes with the moment, it showed a realistic picture of two peole who fall in love, with all the uncertainties and trials that go along with it. Anyone who likes to read about loving others and loving God should definitely read Sophie's Heart.

Summary: "Simply Sophie"
Review: I have read many fiction christian novels, but this one tops them all! With each and every page I became so involved in the lives of each character. Never before have I cried and laughed at the same time! Throughout the whole book, I kept telling myself that we are so spoiled in America and that we need to be more like Sophie and enjoy the "simple" things that God does for us! Truly, Sophie is an inspiration to my own personal christian walk, and I daily try to seek God and what He has for me! Great work, Lori! I need these inspirational characters to keep me in check! Keep up the good work!
