Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: At first I found the characters hard to like and very bland, but they grew on me. There is a good plot to the story and surprise twists throughout. While cheesy and unrealistic, I still found it to be fantastic.

Rating: Summary: tries for clever, succeeds at confusing Review: Could this author have tried to keep the plot more close to the vest? This book I found to be boring and confusing, simply because the author tried to have a surprise around every corner, for example, circling for 5 pages about someone's relationship, just so she can spring the fact that they are actually father and daughter on the unsuspecting bad guy. I found myself turning to the end of the book to find out the big secret, so that the rest of the story would be mindly intelligable. Truly not worth it. And I disagree with the previous reviewer. Linda Howard and Elizabeth Lowell are far superior. This is not a worthwhile substitute.
Rating: Summary: UGGHHHH! Review: I simply loved this book! I read it in 5 hours and could NOT put it down! I read the trilogy backwards, I started with DREAM MOUNTAIN, which is the second book and I should've started with this one, PARADISE ISLAND. Either way you read them, they make sense and I cannot wait for the third book to come out in March, SUN VALLEY. ~Fame is the furthest thing from Luke's mind. He has secluded himself on his own private island to work on a secret project that the whole world wants. He is a reknowned marine archaelogist and much sought after in the press for being devilishly handsome and extremely smart. His island, Paradise Island, not many know about, its not even on most maps, this is why he is so shocked when a raft washes ashore with a barey dressed woman inside! Who in the world is she? Is she another of the hoards of women who try endlessly to seduce him for publcity? Who is she? She can't even remember that much. She must have amnesia. Why is she washed ashore in some raft wearing close to nothing? Why does she feel this deep down sense of dread and fear? Someone is trying to kill her...why? Why can't she remember? And why is this handsome guy that has found her think she is some groupie out to seduce him? Maybe he is some maniac hermit! Maybe he is the person she is running from! Luke soon names her Jade, after the ring she is wearing. Luke does't trust her, but he is hopelessly attracted to her. Maybe she isn't lying. Maybe she IS some amnesiac...but who cant be sure? He can't take any chances with the information he has. He needs to safeguard his project. In a world of corruptness and greed, Jade must remember who she is and why she is being hunted or she will die. Can she trust Luke? Was he somehow involved in her nightmare? Would her falling in love with him effect this whole mess? This is one action-packed romance with twists that leave you turning the pages rapidly for more! I rarely find a romance that has action and twists that I find so absorbing that I can't put it down, but this is one of them, including the second to this trilogy, DREAM MOUNTAIN. Gena Hale is a new author to the romance genre and I think she has made an impression that will launch her into success quickly! She is also known as Sheila Veihl in another genre. Tracy Talley~@

Rating: Summary: Loved Paradise Island Review: I wish she had more books out there. I was very sad when I found out she is a new writer and this is her only book. Great reading!
Rating: Summary: Loved Paradise Island Review: I'd never read a Gena Hale book before, but it was an AMAZON recommendation, and they're usually pretty much on the mark. This was no exception. I enjoyed this book very much. I found it a bit thin in spots (like the sudden return of Jade's memory) but overall, I'd have to say that on the strength of this novel, I'd buy Ms. Hale's next book without question. It was full of mystery, with plenty of twists and turns, and when the romance between Luke and Jade heats up, you'll be wildly flipping pages. I could completely understand Luke's suspicion of Jade as a plant by the media especially since a newspaper is offering a large cash reward to any woman who can 'prove' she's slept with the reclusive scientist. And when Jade literally floats into Luke's life, wearing nothing more than underwear and a blistering sunburn, and no memory of who she is or how she happened to be set adrift in a life raft with a head injury, the story really pulls you in. The secondary characters were interesting enough, but they only made me want to hurry and get back to Jade and Luke. I'm really glad I bought this book. This is the kind of book I wish I could have saved for a day at the beach. But who knows, I may just toss it in my beachbag and re-read it on my next trip to the beach! Grab this one. You'll be glad you did.

Rating: Summary: Similar in style to Linda Howard & Elizabeth Lowell Review: Just finished reading this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is in the style of Linda Howard & Elizabeth Lowell and while it's a bit "lightweight" in comparision to those authors, it was still a good read. I would definitely recommend this book for those of us who are waiting anxiously for Howard and Lowell's next new release. I'm looking forward to Gena Hale's next book.
Rating: Summary: Exciting romantic suspense Review: Marine archeologist Dr. Luke Fleming is known as much for his looks as he is for his work. Currently, he hides on PARADISE ISLAND so he can concentrate on a time sensitive, top secret effort for the Feds and avoid all the ladies who want him. When he finds a woman severely sunburned and suffering head injuries, a reluctant Luke provides her care. When the trespasser regains consciousness, she claims to not know who she is or why she washed up on the beach. Though she may be in danger from an unknown enemy or simply an accident victim, Luke mistrusts the castaway he dubs Jade. He thinks she is simply trying to seduce him, something to his chagrin he knows that she can easily do, as he desires her very much. PARADISE ISLAND is an exciting contemporary romantic suspense novel that will thrill the audience with its non-stop action. The story line is fast- paced and the suspicious Luke is quite the hunk that women believe him to be even if his distrustful nature can become tedious. Still readers will find Gena Hale's tale quite a tale. Harriet Klausner
