Summary: Had its moments
Review: Like many of the other reviewers, I am big fan of the Tamara Hayle mysteries, and after reading many of their reviews I didn't expect much----the same old black middle and upper middle class drama! However, the book took a turn for me around the time Hutch's son, Steven, makes his public proclamation. I found his( Hutch) ruminating quite interesting. Yes, the book was predicatble, but I actually found myself getting more interested in the characters and their emotional stuff, especially Roscoe and Precious who were by far the most well-grounded of the bunch. All in all, it wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad.

Summary: Ain't Nobody Perfect!
Review: This book has a lot of twists & turns. I was glad to read that a writer could tell the story of romance from a middle age insight. All of the characters in the book had their own personal issues to resolve. Not only was this a romance book, but it was also funny, well-written & the love scenes were steamy. I am looking forward to Valerie's next romance book. Valerie is a talented mystery writer as well as romance writer.

Summary: A. A. A.
Review: A.A.A. stands for Average Amateur Attempt which is what I consider this book to be. Considering the fact that this is Valerie's first attempt at a romance/drama novel, I will cut her some slack in this review. Simply put, this novel did not have an opening that grabbed and captivated me. This book did not start to get interesting until Eva freed her inhibitions and got her groove back with a younger man (name withheld on purpose). This relationship was the catalyst needed in order to get the spark back in Eva's life and inevitably back into her marriage. It was a laborious read for approximately ten chapters but it starts to flow sometime thereafter. All in all, this was not a bad first attempt but considering that I have read all of Valerie's Tamara Hayle murder mysteries and love every last one of them, I figured this book would be no different. It was a little disappointing but I do look forward to Tamara Hayle's next assignment. As for Valerie's next romance/drama, I will review the book with a cautious eye before purchasing it.

Summary: A good book.
Review: This was a good book. Although It wasn't the type of book that you feel you just can't put down, it did keep my interest. The characters were very likeable too. When I first read the introduction I said I know I'm not going to like Eva. But when I got into the book, I wondered well what did she do that made Hutch just up and leave in the middle of the night? I feel like the author could have went more into detail about their past history, that would lead up to the part when Hutch left. But Eva wasn't as bad as the introduction pertrayed her to be. I do think it was very tacky for her to sleep with her daughters ex. Even if Charly dumped him because she found no compatabilty with him. Mothers should know better. As for Donald he got just what he deserved. Its karma, what goes around will eventually come back around again. And when it does, its usually worse for the person that dished it out. Good for him. I do wish that Raye could have found the happiness she truly deserved. I liked Raye, she seemed to be a very nice lady. The book ended pretty good too. I would recommend this book to all. Big up to Valerie Wilson Wesley. I'll be reading more of your books.

Summary: Mind your own business!
Review: What an excellent book! This was my first time reading one of her books, had never even heard of her mystery books. Not my genre of reading. This book, however, held my attention from page one. At the beginning, you wonder how bad Eva could be to make her husband just up and leave in the middle of the night. She doesn't seem like she would be a very likable character. As the book progresses, however, you learn to know and even like Eva. The same goes for Hutch. You can even understand how the situations happened as they did for Eva and Isaiah, Hutch and Raye. Donald, Raye's husband, deserved everything she did to him. Talk about the world's biggest dog! Eva's relationships with her father and daughter were also nicely told. Being a mother, I could totally understand how the child that you have loved and cared for can be the one to hurt you the most. I could also relate as to how hard it can be to finally realize they are grown and have to live, learn and make their own mistakes. By and large, I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to others to read.

Summary: Loved It! - Author of "A Fool's Paradise"
Review: This was a great book. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a lot of drama. You have the makings of a daytime talk show, sister drama and parent child conflict and situations that they have to be big enough to overcome. There was enough chemistry throughout the book to make it sizzle and then it ended with a bang!

Summary: Fantastic Read
Review: From the minute I picked it up and forward, I was taken in by instant and simultaneous, character and scenic development. I thoroughly enjoyed the flow and phrasing and feel of the story. Eva is a great character. I'm glad I looked into your work... I will be looking at more of it soon!--Michelle McGriff, author of For Love's Sake

Summary: Ain't nobody's business if i do
Review: This is the story of eva and her husband Hutch who decide to seperate at the beginning of the book. Also in the book is Eva's daugther Charley, who decides to become a comedian, to her mother's dislike, we meet Hutch's son Steven, along with the young guy who Eva starts dating. Hutch has a affair with his playboy bestfriend's wife. I liked this book because you get a chance to hear from most of all the characthers in the book.

Summary: A fan of all her books
Review: As a supporter of the Tamara Hayle mystery series, I hope that Ms Wislon-Wesley will continue her career as a straight fiction writer in addition to writing mysteries. I enjoyed this book as much if not more than I enjoy her mysteries. I have read all her books and you can really see her progression as a writer. She is definitely getting better. Couldn't put this book down, it is a must read.

Summary: A Very Good Book!!
Review: I really enjoyed this book, it was one that I could not put down. I enjoyed the characters and the the plot twist. It was good to read about characters that are in their "40's" and up that you can relate to.
