Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not a typical Jill Gregory
Review: I am in the middle of reading this book and am tempted to stop. The heroine is is not a strong character and the hero is revolting! These two are supposed to fall in love, but so far the hero has kidnapped the heroine, repeatedly raped her, hit her, enslaved her and forced her to do hard labor. Now she has been freed and he captured and imprisoned and she feels sorry for him and misses him!!! Instead of reporting his abuse so he can be appropriately punished, which I was hoping for, she is keeping quiet to preserve her reputation. Not admirable. I have read several Jill Gregory books and none have had this kind of twisted "romance". On the other hand, I am compelled to finish it. I can only hope somehow, Ms. Gregory redeems these characters in some way, though I despise the hero and don't admire, but pity the heroine at this point.
