Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Forced and elementary
Review: The author of this book should have just focused on a straight-up romance without forcing the issues of rape and dyslexia into it. She addresses the subjects so perfunctorily that she demeans both issues, and seems to only use them in some kind of deux ex machina to give artificial weight and credence to a genre of book that should really be seen for what it is: a Harlequin Superromance. By forcing the use of these two weighty issues into the book, the writer is obviously trying to make up for the weightlessness of such a book (Harlequin). Give it up, lady--the book ain't nothing but fluff, and it is misplaced of you to insert these heavy social issues into the book. Stick with writing about romance--your cursory addressing of the subjects of rape and dyslexia only serves to give an aura of artificial seriousness to a book that is really only fluff.
