Rating: Summary: Pleasurable read!!! (4.5stars really) Review: The heroine (and indeed she is), the beautiful, sweet and loving Samantha Douglas with a physical condition that causes her to deem her body defective merchandise...is a former pick-pocket. The hero, Prince Rudolf Kazanov, handsome, powerful, with a deep dark secret and a temper to match his status, is running away...from his enemies or his past? This is not your average "cinderella"-type romance. From the first sentence I was hooked! The instant attraction between Samantha and Rudolf causes explosive passion which then leads to love, sacrifice and well, a few rash decisions causing misunderstanding and regrets which is then resolved and of course, all's well that ends well. Rudolf is running away from someone who wants to kill him for a valuable item that Rudolf has in his possession. Samantha involuntarily becomes entangled in the escape and there begins a rollarcoaster ride of emotions and action that will bring you from giggles, to sighs (awww), to tears, and back to more sighs and giggles. Samantha struggles to overcome her lack of self-confidence but her loyalty and love for Rudolf makes up for her sometimes annoying self-degrading thoughts. Rudolf has a secret he is determined to keep from everyone but in his love for Samantha he shares his secret with her. His charm and the things he says to Samantha and his love for children is so wonderful you can't help but fall in love with him. As the couple fall deeper in love with each other, misunderstandings, distrust and lies threaten them along with Rudolf's reluctance to give his heart because of his past, but in the end, true love prevails. Although I found the turns in the story a little too abrupt sometimes and Rudolf's temper at times made me want to yell at him (yes, yell at the book), the story drew me in so much that I finished it in one night! A fairy-tale of two wonderful, unforgettable characters, positively dripping with love and emotion, mixed with slight suspense, excellent dialogue and exciting supporting characters makes this a must-read!
Rating: Summary: Did I read a different book than the other reviewers? Review: This was one of the worse romance novels I've ever read! The "hero" (I use the term very loosely) is absolutely despicable. He shows no respect for the heroine and is very condescending. He's an autocratic, uncommunicative bore who verbally and mentally abuses the heroine throughout the novel. ****SPOILER**** He abducts her the night she intends to announce her engagement and later seduces her, even knowing it will ruin her and knowing he will not marry her. The "heroine" is spineless and in need of some self-esteem. She wallows in self-pity and (to paraphrase the "hero") doesn't know how to do anything aside from cry and vomit (yes, he's surely a prince!). This book defines wall banger and it was a test of my willpower to simply finish it.
Rating: Summary: PRINCE CHARMING Review: TO CHARM A PRINCE charmed me completely. Rudolf---strong, sexy, gentle with women, funny, and yes arrogant---won my heart. I laughed and cried, especially when he gave Samantha those hair ribbons. Samantha makes the perfect heroine: innocent but becoming a strong woman, shy and mouthy too, nurturing, and funny. WOW! I can't wait for Grasso's next book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Rating: Summary: Charmed! Review: To Charm A Prince charmed me from first word to last. Rudolf was sexy, funny, sensitive, and touched my heart by caring so gently for the three ladies in his life---mother, daughter, and heroine. Samantha was all that a heroine should be: innocent growing into a strong woman, nurturing, funny (especially when she knocked that arrogant chip off the hero's shoulder.I loved this book!
Rating: Summary: CHARMINGLY ENTERTAINING Review: TO CHARM A PRINCE is Grasso's best book ever. Prince Rudolf and Samantha made me laugh, sigh, cry, and laugh again. Rudolf's caring for the women in his life touched me. The story proves that love does conquer all.
