Summary: Stitches in Time
Review: I thought the book was comfusing and at times boring. The summary of it sounded very exuberant and interesting because i love mysteries. But when i started (1rst chapter) it was so hard to get into it. It then got better later, and became interesting but it wasn't a very good book to keep (UNDER LOCK AND KEY!)But dont take my opinion because you really have to expearance it yourself. For the reason also may be the fact iam 14.

Summary: I Really Liked This Book!
Review: I, for one, really liked this book. This was my first Barbara Michaels book, and I enjoyed it so much, I started reading all of Barbara Michael's books. This book is about Rachel, and it has psychic scary stuff in it. I really enjoy books (and movies) where the scary stuff isn't blood and guts psycho killer stuff. I like the characters, I love the fact that in all her books, she always has a bunch of cats and dogs, and I always feel so comfortable, I could be sitting at the kitchen table with these people, having a conversation and helping to figure out what is going on! And I love that the people in the story do regular things--let the dogs out, keep the cats from going into the shop, opening a can for food, these are regular people, just like me!

I was so intrigued that Pat, the "grumpy old guy" had a similar experience and it had affected him so strongly that he recognized instantly that Rachel was "shadowed", that I went out and did some searching and found the book that deals with him--Amie Come Home.

If you are looking for a pleasurable escape, I recommend this book. I've loaned out my copy 3 times, and 3 times I've ended up going and buying it again because the person that borrowed it from me loved it and asked if they could just keep it.

Enjoy!

Summary: Not one of her best.
Review: Not one of her best stories. Most of the supporting characters were interesting; they had such vivid personalities and some life to them. Not our heroine though; she was such a nonentity. I couldn't understand why the others took such an interest in her. The worst part of the book though, was the long-awaited climax. What a disappointment. It was so flat. Such a lame ending. I did learn a lot about quilts though.

Summary: Good Suspense Book, but a little slow
Review: Overall I liked this book. It was a little slow, but on the whole the story was good. I did wish for a little more background on who the quilt was made for and why it was made. The book never really tells you, it just gives you the characters guesses. At time the book seemed to drag, but it was mainly because you didn't know what Rachel's motivation for doing things was. I had a hard time telling what was her and what was the quilt's influence. On the whole I liked this book and may read another by this author.

Summary: Fun! Spooky! Interesting! Good Story!
Review: Really love the way Barbara Michaels combines, characters, plot, and the supernatural! Only one thing would have made this book more perfect for me. I would have loved to "hear" more from the quiltmaker - who haunted the quilt and the lives of the people who touched it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Suspense thriller.
Review: Recently I found the list of Quilt related fiction books on the web. Printed all the titles and authors and proceeded to our local library to check on their availibility.

Barbara Michaels books are the second set that I have read from this list. (Previously I read the "Tyler series" by Harlequin.)

Ammie Come Home, Stitches in Time and just this past Memorial weekend I finished Shattered Silk. On each book I was "captured" from the first chapter to the end. It was very hard for me to stop reading long enough to do any house cleaning.

I would recommend each of these three books to anyone who enjoys the past history and suspense surrounding Washington D.C. I wish she would write some more of these type of stories.

Summary: Watch your back!
Review: Since I love Barbara Michaels, and the similar characters of AMMIE, COME HOME , SHATTERED SILK and now STITCHES IN TIME i picked this up quite readily when i learned that it had Ruth & Pat MacDougal, Kara (Karen) & Mark Brinckley, Tony & Cheryl Cardoza, and that horrible little dog, Alexander in it. This was an awesome story, through and through. It had elements of the supernatural, romance, and danger, in that order. I wouldn't reccomend this to any masculine men. God forbid one of the main parts be a quilt (gasp!) that has carried a hatred so strong that it still exists after many centuries and lays a curse on Rachel so that she tries to kill her best friends' husband. And it even has a few kisses (GASP!!). It was obviously written by a woman for a woman, which is what makes it so GOOD!!!! Try it, you'll love it!

Summary: My all time favorite.
Review: Stitches in Time has to be one of my all time favorites of Ms Michaels. The characters seem to come alive as you read, and you will not want to put it down until you know what happens. This is the one book I've read at least 4 times in the last 2 years....I never get tired of it, and it's characters always bring a smile to your face.

Summary: Stiches in Time
Review: The characters and storyline that Barbara Michaels created started out with potential. I found the book entertaining at least half way through, however from that point this story took a turn for the worst. Overall I did not find the mystery of the quilt that interesting there was not enough detail regarding the quilt and the past to keep my interest. Maybe if we would have heard from the people whose lives were previously effected by the quilt it would have brought more interest and character into the story. I am an avid mystery reader & I did not feel this book fell under any mystery catagory. When the climax of the quilt is resolved I no longer cared for the story or the characters as to me is seemed has a weak ending to the "puzzling" quilt. Once the author lets you know how this problem was resloved you know longer want to read this book. From there it leaves you feeling unsatisfied. You know how things will end romatically so why read on? I would give it 2 stars has it was not unreadable yet definatley did not leave the reader with a since of satisfaction.
