Rating: Summary: Where can I find a man like Pendleton?! Review: I really enjoyed this book. While I found myself at times put off by the female character's behavior, the humor and snappy dialogue made this book a pleasure to read. Pendleton is a great character, romantic, funny, patient, and sexy! I am looking forward to reading more of this author's books.
Rating: Summary: "Her Man Friday" is a better example of this author's work Review: I think that EB's previous work, "Her Man Friday," was cute and funny. This is the reason why I chose to purchase another book by this same Author with a similar title, "My Man Pendleton," However, I found in reading "My Man Pendleton," that the main characters seemed to act in ways that were so out of character, that the storyline began to slowly but surely lose credibility. The main characters started out very interesting, but the interaction and dialogue just got rather unbelieveable, hence leaving an impression that this romance had taken a somewhat ridiculous turn. This may be a reader, but not a keeper.
Rating: Summary: What fun! Review: I thought this book was very enjoyable, and quite a bit different from many of the romances I've read in recent years. Ms. Bevarly has a very wry sense of humor, to be sure, but she kept me laughing. This was the first book I've read by this author, but it certainly won't be the last.
Rating: Summary: witty! Review: I throughly enjoyed reading this book. The lead characters make you laugh almost the entire length of this novel. This book is absolutely refreshing. This is the kind of novel that makes you upset when someone calls you while you are reading it. If you have to chose between books, this is the one. What a fabulous read.
Rating: Summary: Yes, it had its moments, but.... Review: I was excited by the reviews I had read about this book, but can't agree with the higher ratings. There were passages I found myself giggling over, but somehow, the humour seemed very self-conscious and a bit derivative. I picked my way through the book rather than reading it through; it just couldn't keep my attention. I will hope for growth from this author.
Rating: Summary: Fun, but a bit disappointing Review: I would have expected more from Elizabeth Bevarly, I loved her book "The Wedding". This one was fun, but ...

I just loved this..and the way that Pendelton proves his love for Kit is unbearably adorable!! The last 2 paragraphs of this book had me gasping in delight!! READ THIS!! You wont be sorry!
Rating: Summary: Pendleton is a keeper! Review: It is down to the last 2 months of the 2 years set aside for Kit to find a husband before her mother's fortune is divided amongst charities. If she marries the fortune stays in the family in the hands of Kit's father & brothers. So the pressure is one. Up to now Kit hasn't found that TRUE Love she's been looking for. And if Dad hadn't run off all of her other romances this wouldn't have happened. He didn't think any were good enough at the time. It's a different story now.Pendleton is out to prove to everyone, especially his ex-wife and himself, that he can make it and be successful once again. He had it all once- but then things fell apart, so now he is having to start all over again. Pendleton has been hired on by Kit's father to run the family million dollar business. Kit has run away for the umpteenth time and it is now Pendleton's time to go after her and bring her home. Is this part of his job description? Having no choice Pendleton takes out after Kit. Kit really puts Pendleton through it but he never breaks. This intrigues Kit and she wants to get to know more of Pendleton. One way is by moving in with him (without his approval but she is the boss' daughter so what is he to do). In the end, who is chasing who? The fireworks start! There is a lot of fun with this one - but there are some hidden feelings there too to be discovered. It's a good one to read!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic. Be prepared for the ride of your life Review: Shades of Gable/Colbert, Grant/Hepburn. If you love fast-paced 30's style romantic comedies, then do not miss this book. From the moment you begin, Kit and Pendleton will sweep you off your feet. This is a laugh-out-loud story. Kit is responsible for the families millions, a responsibility she does not want. She has to marry within two months or all is lost to charity. She reacts to her destiny by running away (constantly). Her father has sent many of his staff to bring her back. All return without Kit and with bodily injuries. Finally, her father ropes Pendleton into going after her. Pendleton has no choice, he works for Kit's father. Then the fireworks begin in earnest. Pendleton keeps Kit guessing every minute. He never reacts as she intends. Hold on to your seats! A real keeper. The story is not all fun and games, however. There are also serious matters to be resolved. This book is charming and witty and will leave the reader with a lovely memory. Ms. Bevarly, we need more stories like Pendleton.
Rating: Summary: MY MAN PENDLETON is fast-paced, witty fun! Review: Take wry, dry, Noel Coward-esque dialogue and characters and throw them into the nineties, and you've got MY MAN PENDLETON. Sizzling with sexual tension that never takes itself too seriously, this cleverly written book never drops the madcap pace for a moment, as Kit McClellan, a spoiled almost-an-heiress finds herself wondering why she's actually attracted to Pendleton, the latest in a long line of lackeys her father has foisted on her in a frantic attempt to get her hitched before the family loses its nearly hundred million dollar fortune. Escapist fare at its best, with just enough tugs at the old heartstrings now and again to make the reader care about this collection of goofy, eccentric characters.
