Rating: Summary: "Real For Me" is real TO me Review: "Real For Me" was a refreshing read with extremely interesting twists. I especially liked the diversity of characters - from the progressive professional doctor/lawyer types to the person who takes a job waiting tables as he searches for gainful employment in the business districts. Real people facing real situations, "Real For Me" was a great literary escape.
Rating: Summary: A Great Effort!!! Review: Contrary to the editorial reviews of this novel. I ejoyed this novel quite a bit. I definitely found myself wondering what was going to happen in the end. It did have a few twist to it that made it all the more fun to read. Definitely give it a try. I also recommend his second novel someone's in the kitchen also very enjoyable.

Rating: Summary: AWESOME Review: Eric did a fantastic job combining romance, mystery and humor. Being a critical reader, I was very skeptical reading a 1st novel by an author but WELL worth the read! I'm ready for books 2, 3, 4, etc. Keep up the good work, Eric.
Rating: Summary: not your run of the mill book Review: Eric E. Pete did a great job writing this book... The characters were mememorable....the writing flawless... I stayed up half the night reading the book because I simply could not put it down. I wish more writers would take the time to really develop good characters as well as enhance their writing skills.
Rating: Summary: Real For Me Review: Excellent book!! An easy read that is so real. You can understand and feel each character. Pete brings such detail to this novel you can actually visualize each scene and feel as if you were there. Both men and women alike will enjoy this one.
Rating: Summary: He kept it Real!!!! Review: For the record I this is my first book reading in 20 years plus.Reading a book was one of my New Years Resolutions. I start reading this book early in the day and finish it late that night. I didn't want to put it down!! The characters were easy to connect too.As I was reading I became a part of the book. The book made me feel like I was watching a movie that kept it real.Eric, maybe Denzel or Spike should give you a call about putting "Real for Me" on the big screen.
Rating: Summary: Real For Me is a REAL treat!!! Review: Glover should be on cloud nine. She's beautiful, intelligent, has great friends, and is engaged to a sexy, successful brother that tends to her needs but she feels empty, and wonders if her relationship is just following logical steps...and not the steps that her heart feels need to be made. When she meets Maxwell, a brother new to California, who is looking for something better in his life, Glover finds herself confused all the more as she is forced to look into herself to see what she truly wants, what will make her happy. Real for Me is a great debut novel by Eric Pete. I read the book in one sitting, and found myself totally engaged with the characters and wrapped up in the plotline. The dialogue was real and sharp, and Pete did a great job in fleshing out the main characters and giving them individual voices and quirks. I really enjoyed this novel and especially the characters (Glover's best friends are a treat), and would definitely recommend this novel.....
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I don't really read modern fiction. I like the classics, Ralph Ellison, Richard Wright, Zora Neal Hurston etc... I was VERY happy that I got this book. I couldn't put it down. It read like everyday life for a 30ish Black man like myself. The characters are as real as can be and I can picture everything from Club Drama to Glover (with her fine self).
Rating: Summary: Real For Me Review: I enjoyed reading the book from beginning to end. I found the characters to be witty, engaging and easy to relate to. This novel brings to the surface the price one pays for love and happiness while striving for peace of mind. Brother Pete is definitely carving his mark in the literary arena. I'm looking forward to reading his next book.
