Summary: A sweet historical romance with a touch of paranormal
Review: Gillian Saunders and her brother live alone, far away from town. Her healing abilities, and her brother's deformity have kept them from trying to fit into small town life. They prefer to live alone in the house they both grew up in with their parents.

Spencer Reeves is badly hurt in a shipwreck with his two friends. They make their way to shore and get to the cabin where Gillian and her brother live. Gillian helps heal Spencer, who is a physician in the town of Salem. As his friends go for help, Gillian and Spencer spend some time together, and each find in the other a connection they weren't expecting. But Gillian is unwilling to explore anything further with him, and Spencer goes home, after telling Gillian that if she ever needs for anything, she must come find him.

The need arises when enemies from her father's past hunt Gillian down, and burn down her cabin. With nothing left, she turns to Spencer in Salem for help. In Salem, Gillian learns of her true destiny, both with Spencer, and with the sisters she never knew she had.

The conclusion to The MacInness Legacy trilogy is sweet, mysterious and fun. Although I somehow managed to miss the first two books in this series, I didn't find reading this one out of order difficult in the slightest. I look forward to picking up the first two and reading about the characters I met in this story. I recommend this book to readers who like a sweet historical romance with a light touch of the paranormal.
