Summary: Totally Entertaining-a must read !!
Review: I loved The Bride Finder so was anxious to read this sequel-----I loved it as much if not more than the first one---Her characters are so real--you feel like you are in the room with them when they speak. Definitely would recommend it!! It's a great escape--you won't want it to end....

Summary: In the minority
Review: I read the BRIDE FINDER and couldn't put it down however, there was a bit of wading to finish the NIGHT DRIFTER. My problem was with the 2 female leads. I couldn't sympathsize with Rosalind and found her at times annoying. Obviously, since I buy and read romances I like escape but up until the end her mousy and her escapist behavior was irritating. Given a flesh and blood Lance or a ghost...it was very difficult to believe her dilemma. Effie was just irritating and too self centered to be found even amusing......the glinpses of Kate however show promise and I have high hopes for a sequel with Kate, Val and Rafe (whom I feel should be given some happiness...dare I suggest by marrying one of Anatole's daughters----just a thought.

Summary: This sequel to THE BRIDE FINDER did not disappoint!
Review: I read THE BRIDE FINDER and of course, was anxiously awaiting the sequel. I will have to say that THE NIGHT DRIFTER did not disappoint in the least. The story of Lance and Rosalind was intriguing, to say the least. Susan Carroll has created a very interesting family in the St. Legers. I am hoping there will be more stories about this strange and wonderful family!

Summary: PHENOMENAL!!!
Review: I read the BrideFinder last year and while I enjoyed it, I find I am raving over this latest book! While it is a story of true love between Lance and his chosen bride-there is so much more to it. It is also a story of the new Bridefinder, the old ghost Prospero and definitely of the love between two brothers that is more touching in it's own right than the story between Rosalind and Lance. Rafe Mortmain also makes his own appearance.

And even more surprising and very pleasantly so is that Anatole St. Leger is basically the same person he was in The BrideFinder. His core personality is still exactly as it was. But even though his appearance is brief-Susan Carroll does wonders with the amount she is able to imbue in that small but touching scene.

Be sure and have your tissues handy because this book will make you cry! And anxiously await the rest of the story!

Summary: could have done better
Review: i thought that this book would be good and would be better than the bride finder but it was not it did dissapoint me on a number of levels, firstly i think that it shold have been funnier considering Rosalind's personality earlier described as being quirky but instead sounded kind of immature. Also the reasons why Lance was cynical were really not explained in a believable way and so i was left feeling a little let down.

Summary: AN AMAZING SEQUEL TO THE BRIDE FINDER!!!
Review: In THE NIGHT DRIFTER, we meet the twins sons of THE BRIDE FINDER's Anatole and Madeline St. Ledger.

Valentine, crippled while saving his brother's life, is a gentle healer whose St. Ledger gift allows him to absorb another's pain.

Lancelot, regretful of what his brother did for him, is a man who feels he's not worthy of anything or anyone, a man with the unique and frightening ability to separate his soul from his body. He is a night drifter.

This story mainly focuses on the older twin, Lance and on his chosen bride, Rosalind Carlyon. Rosalind, a young widow not afraid of the St. Ledger legacy, is the only one capable of bringing peace to Lance's restless soul. He is her knight in shining armor while she is his Lady of the Lake. They are a passionate couple. The relationship between the brothers is at times heartwrenching especially when the love between them is so evident. I also found the friendship between Lance and Rafe Mortmain intriguing. I thought Effie Fitzleger, the current bride finder, was hilarious and definitely not the expected. The cameos of Anatole and Madeline were fantastic. Their love is still as passionate as ever. Prospero, the family originator and ghost, was as mysterious and dashing as ever. It was wonderful to finally get to know more about him, his past and his St. Ledger power, which happens to be very similar to Lance's.

THE NIGHT DRIFTER is a story filled with magic, mystery, suspense, tragedy, healing, love and passion. I recommend it and it's predecessor, THE BRIDE FINDER. You'll absolutely love them. Trust me!

Summary: An excellent followup to the "Bride Finder"
Review: It takes an excellent story to impress me...The "Night Drifter" did that. I would like to see another story in the series, but I would be afraid the "Bride Finder" and "Night Drifter" would be hard to follow. I have not used my imagination while reading for years--the visuals I had of the characters, the scenery-- made the experience of the "Night Drifter" one I'd wish to know. 5 stars? no--10 stars for this wonderful story. Read the "Bride Finder" first, and you'll understand some of the slight relating humor in the "Night Drifter".

Summary: A great story, with wonderful characters!
Review: It's hard to imagine that Susan Carroll could top the Bride Finder but she did with her latest book, The Night Drifter. I loved this book! Rich in story and characterization we once again get to follow the strange and haunting world of the St. Leger family. The best part of this book was observing how the characters were changed by true love. I can only hope that Ms. Carroll will continue the St. Leger saga so that we can once again be pulled into the world of this unique family.l

Summary: The ultimate fantasy-romance!
Review: Night Drifter offers romance in its purest, most magnificent form. This is a love story reminiscent of the fantasies I used to read a very young girl, the type that made me dream, sigh with longing...and dream some more.

Susan Carroll's storytelling skill and deep emotional tone in this book even surpassed her Bride Finder, which I found to be a stunning novel.

Her characters Rosalind and Lancelot will break your heart and, at the same time, have you chuckling through your tears at their antics. But make no mistake, when suspense builds, when grief besets them, the reader is so deeply entrenched she is living every moment, feeling every tear and spate of fear and rage.

Pure romance, pure heroism, is the very consistent theme throughout this wonderful novel. I highly recommend it. If you loved Bride Finder, you won't be able to put this one down. I bow to Susan's incredible talent and writing skill. And I can't wait for her next book. -Lee Emory

Summary: A good read
Review: Susan Carroll does it again with "The Night Drifter", I didn't think that she could top "The Bride Finder" but this book was just as good if not better. I fell in love with Rosalind and Lance, as they fell in love with eachother. I laughed while reading, something a rarely do when reading, and cried, something I had never done when reading a book. The perfect love story. I can't wait to read "Midnight Bride", Val's story coming in April 2001. I know that it will be a worthwhile read as well as a compeling love story, with a plot which is something you rarely have when reading romance. Definalty a good read, I HIGHLY recomend it to anyone. Even if you don't like romance.
