Review: Brazen is the finest example of a Blaze book that I have read thus far. What sets it above the rest is simple: wonderful prose is combined with a sexuality that is accented by tenderness and emotional intimacy. It was satisfying from sultry beginning to tender end.

Review: Carly Phillips did an excellent job for a debut, this book was full of all the things I love to read about. The chemistry between the main characters was dynamite and the passion was red hot. I couldn't put it down. I am definitely looking forward to her next book.

Review: Give many writers the premise of a heroine seeking a no-strings, week-long affair with a perfect stranger, not to mention that both parties are not exactly being honest with each other, and what you often get is "hot" for the sake of "hot", but a love story that's less than believeable. Not so with Carly Phillips's BRAZEN. Yes, the love scenes sizzle, but within the context of a tender, surprise love affair that quickly turns into the real thing. Ms. Phillips takes great care to show the motivation for her characters' lies of omission, and well as their basic goodness and integrity, a complexity of characterization not often found in short romances. Definitely a writer to watch.

Review: in plot depth and character development. You'll read in other reviews the actually plot and character names, so I'll keep my review a discussion of execution only. The book is not poorly written, but everything just seems to happen without a smooth flow. Yes, the sex scenes are inventive, but it all seems rushed with more lust than passion. I didn't find myself caring about either character. Plenty of sex but little romance. I was actually more interested in the peripheral characters who are denizens of Mac's bar; who seemed more colorful and more real. I was a little disappointed given the really high marks this book got, but believe with more time the writer will develop a polish that would make her characters a lot more believable and replace her sex scenes with sensual love scenes.

Review: Ms. Phillips certainly knows how to tug at those heart strings! I felt as though I were right there with Mac and Sammy Jo, feeling the emotions they felt. This is a great story that proves that true love can happen when it's least expected and that true love always prevails. I recommend this book to any romance lover.
