Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: All that I heard it was and more! Review: Initially, I wondered why Ms. McFarland took her time, telling us so much about the main characters, now I know why. It's because she knew we would need it for later, when she made us feel like we'd known these people from childhood. Even the little 'background' characters were identifiable. Her dialogue is wonderful, the situations are tense and sometimes painful, but always well written and intriguing. This is the second time I've read her. I read and loved "Summer Wind" and I can't believe she just got better! This one goes into the permanent collection.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Well written and memorable. Intensely loving. Review: People say that we feel more because we're twins. We prefer to think it's because we are just very <special>. Anyway, we want to say that we think this story is also very <special> because it is not only romantic, it is intimate, and pervasive. The love expressed by these characters is multi-dimensional and the writer gives you a sense of timelessness. You just know that these people will still be in love in fifty years. We can already imagine them together as senior citizens, still holding hands and seeing joy in each other's faces.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One heck of a good book!!!!! Review: This book took me through a full range of emotions, and if I knew where to find her, I would have to go show Gail McFarland a whole lot of love.I have a question and don't know where else to ask it. I hear BET is planning on using some of the Arabesque novels for books and movies. Where do I go to cast my vote for this one? This book deserves to be seen and loved by as many people as possible.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Truly Romantic! Review: This is a wonderfully romantic story of a loving woman, Noelle Parker, who cares about people... even when it hurts. Noelle is the heroine of the human interest story we never read about. When Noelle befriends her co-worker, Pat, and learns to trust her hero, Jamal Harris, they create and become the superfriends we never see in cartoons or movies. Because the tone of this novel is compassionate and family-centered, the characters are so easy to warm up to and enjoy. They make you laugh and almost cry. The romance of the novel is not in the bedroom; however, it is permeated throughout the book as Noelle risks sharing her love with those she encounters after walking away from a painful past. The passion is not tainted with the lust and scandal we often see in daytime and evening dramas. Ms. McFarland, thank you for restoring my faith in happily ever after! Please continue to share your love stories with those of us who still believe in it.
Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: Thank You. Review: This is just a quick note to thank you all for the warmth and support you've given to me and all of the characters "people-ing" THE BEST FOR LAST. I get to report that this book was chosen as a September, 1998 "Top Pick" by Romantic Times Magazine, and that The Romance Reader designated me as an "Emerging Author", and I'm thrilled. But, even better, I've had a letter from a woman in Chicago who plans to use Noelle's wedding vows for her own wedding. Then there was the really nice man from Decatur who sent me flowers! I've had the pleasure of hearing from a number of teens who've read and "loved" (really! That was the term most of them used) this book. And, let me not forget those of you I've been able to meet and exchange hugs with -- it's all very special and you're locked in my most treasured memories forever. Thank you, again
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Sooky, sooky, now!!!!!!!! Review: We're all grown here, so we know that there is more to life, love, and happiness than what we see on television. I feel gratified and happy to see myself, my man, and my relationships reflected as accurately as Gail McFarland has shown them in this story. This is a book that I will keep and reread. I have already put all my friends on notice -- BUY YOUR OWN COPY! But, now, I want Gail to know that I am a greedy woman. If this is "The Best For Last", what is she going to call the sequel? There has to be a sequel. How else will we know what happens to Pat once she gets out of those tight pink shoes?
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Absolutely loved it! Review: What an incredible read. This story grabs your attention from page 1 and does not release you until you have devoured every single page. I dont know?-- what would I do in a similiar situation? Are there really men like Jamal out there?--can your average black woman really have him? Can we really let go of our past and move on? What about strained mother/daughter relationships? What do we do about all the adoptable black children out there--is our current system failing them? these are question that I have posed after reading this wonderful book and I have received insight into each and every question--Will it make a difference in my life? possibly? hopefully!! I have recommended this book to everyone I know. Have fun reading it!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Deep!! Review: When I go for romance, I want to see the hot and heavy. You know, the down and dirty, but this time I got tricked. I got tricked by tthe heat and passion and caring of decent people who needed each other in the purest most sensual way. I got tricked into loving elemental people who found their joy in being. When I got to pgs. 187-189, I also found out this writer can make the "booty jump" from a cross a room full of people. She can do it without them even touching, and it thrilled me. Don't want to give away the plot, but cover to cover, this one is worth the time you'll invest in it. This writer gets deep into our secret closets, my Sisters. She makes me proud to celebrate the love between ALL my brothers and my sisters.
