Summary: A Home Run
Review: Author, Catherine Burr, has hit one out of the park with her debut novel, Silicon Secrets.

I enjoyed the story from the fast moving start to the surprise ending.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Love vs. Power? Can you have both?
Review: Catherine Burr has created a very realistic character in Lucky Lukovich a.k.a. Lane Lawson.

Raised by a resentful, poverty stricken father, Lucky never knew his mother. Longing for love and wealth he sets off on an adventure to America, where dreams can come true. His objective of wealth and power are set aside when he meets the free-spirited Heather. Her love compares to none he's ever known. But is it enough to interfere with his dream of running Silcon Valley? If anything, his love for her only motivates him to work harder to acheive success. He wants to give her the world, little does he know it lays at her feet. Regardless of Heathers ability to possess wealth and power, she yearns for happiness money can't bring. If only Lucky would realize, both of their dreams had come true when fate brought them together.

Through complicated twists, Lucky and Heather are reunited. But will the secrets of his past be too great of an obstacle to overcome? This reader felt the end pulled together nicely and the conclusion was well done. But is it over? I've heard a sequal is in the mix. Bring it on, Catherine. I'm anxious to see if Lucky can be tamed.?.

Summary: Outstanding Author
Review: Catherine Burr has won an "Outstanding Author Award," and I can see why. Silicon Secrets is not your typical boring, predictable book; rather an insight into a world, not many see. Parts of this novel are so real, it's like a non-fiction book. As an Silicon Valley insider, I can say, this author knows her stuff.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not just referring to breast implants
Review: Does it matter that Silicon Secret, a rags-to-silicon Chick Lit offering, has a sentimental happy conclusion, stock plot devices and coincidences we all shrug and accept? Not when they're done so well. Just bring back the cast of "Melrose Place" and call it "Silicon Secrets."

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Captivating and fast paced read
Review: Great story with a surprise ending.
I'm looking forward to a sequel to see what happens next to Heather and Lucky.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Heartwarming Debut
Review: I am a confirmed Catherine Burr fan. Silicon Secrets starts out serious, but soon turns playful and sensuous; yet never leaving the underscore of the conflicted nature that haunts Lucky, the main character.

The ability to combine serious issues into an enjoyable read, without being depressing is a complicated task; but Catherine Burr, in her first novel, has done just that.

This book lends itself for discussion on serious issues that confront our everyday life, and for this and other reasons makes a good choice for your reading group.
